Paramore
Biography
Although their spunky blend of emo-pop and anthemic rock eventually made them stars on both sides of the Atlantic, Paramore began humbly enough in Franklin, TN, where lead singer Hayley Williams met brothers Josh and Zac Farro after moving to town from Mississippi. The two Farros had a band that the 13 year-old singer was asked to join, and guitarist Jason Bynum and bassist Jeremy Davis soon climbed aboard to complete Paramore's lineup. Local hangouts and a school talent show helped the young bandmembers hone their chops before graduating to higher-level gigs at area rock clubs.
The quintet's pop-influenced melodies and earnest charisma -- not to mention Williams' powerhouse vocals -- eventually caught the attention of Florida's Fueled by Ramen label, which signed the band in April 2005. Working with producers James Wisner and Mike Green, Paramore recorded their full-length debut, All We Know Is Falling, and released it in late July 2005. In addition to a performance at New Jersey's Bamboozle Festival and multiple dates on the Warped Tour circuit, Paramore played shows with such bands as Simple Plan and Straylight Run. Hunter Lamb replaced Bynum on guitar in December 2005, and the band spent the following summer on Warped Tour once again, cementing their relationship with fans who had caught the previous summer's shows. Lamb parted ways with the group in early 2007 to get married, and Paramore continued onward as a quartet.
The following summer saw the release of the band's sophomore album, Riot!, which was recorded alongside producer David Bendeth and issued by the band's new label, Atlantic Records. Buoyed by the popular singles "Misery Business," "crushcrushcrush," and "That's What You Get," Riot! turned Paramore into industry darlings, going platinum within its first 13 months and earning the band a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. With replacement guitarist Taylor York onboard, the group toured exhaustively in support of the record, even landing a two-month jaunt across the continental U.S. with Jimmy Eat World. Meanwhile, Paramore found time to contribute two songs to the Twilight soundtrack, including the Top 40 single "Decode." A live album entitled The Final Riot! was released several weeks after the Twilight soundtrack, capturing the band's energy as a live act and concluding the touring cycle in support of Riot!.
Paramore publically struggled with fame throughout 2008. Of particular note was the attention lavished upon Hayley Williams, whom many media outlets deemed to be the leader of the group. Rumors of a breakup began to circulate, yet Paramore's lineup remained intact, and the band retreated to a California studio in 2009 to work on a third album. Following a popular summer tour with No Doubt, the group issued Brand New Eyes, a pensive record that featured some of Paramore's strongest songwriting to date. The album debuted at number two with sales of 175,000 copies, besting Mariah Carey's Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel in the process. ~ Corey Apar & Andrew Leahey, All Music Guide

Heard this band was supposed to be amazing. Not terrible but not amazing. Nothing to write home or obsess about.
I find it so bad it's not even funny to me. even the actors were terrible. (only funny scene was Charlie loading his gun. lol)
Twilight is boring, that's why it's so funny. Was it supposed to be funny?
Twilight has the worst romance I have ever known. it has given me a reason to feel ashamed for being a fan of vampires. vampires... DO NOT SPARKLE!

Twilight is so terrible, that it's funny. A girl did a book report on it, and it was f**king hillarious.
Plus: Stop using the terms "like" and "get over it" those are also things that make you seem stupid. Try coming up with better rebuttles and maybe I'll show you some respect.
Twilight sucks my dong. |
Thank you Twilight fans for giving me a reason to hate again. And I'm not talking a hate that implies that I'm jealous of the success of this easily marketable and obviously corporate sounding/loo k i n g band. But a hate that is all consuming that makes me think. "Well at least Hayley will more than likely be junked out of her mind or doing reality shows in 5 years." So I'll just sit back and watch the burn out and make fun of them and you whenever I can.
kinda annoying when they say that tho, but, i guess that could go both ways huh?
No! Keep the haters! I like them here! It gives this page fun.
some people need to get over that some people will comment here and say they don't like a band. best thing to do: ignore and enjoy yourself. :)
I don't hate Paramore, but I don't like them. I don't bring up any "emo" arguments since the subject is too annoying to even dive into. and Katie, isn't it great when you find that one band you just love? enjoy them for as long as you can! :) |
I have to say that Paramore (which means "lover" for those who didn't know) is my fave band. I like all of their songs, I can't pick a fave! I wanted Brand New Eyes for my bday, and didn't get it, I was super effin pissed. Anyway PARAMORE ROCKS! ! ! ! ! ! !

Hayley is SOOOOOO HOTTTTTTT I want to the shang shang with her. Ooooo Yaaaa!!!!!!! !
I know, dude! None of us want to hear about Hayley's problems!
actully, i kinda this is kinda good. but it is just a bunch of emo kids sing about things that will never change and we really dont need to hear about.
Dude, Bob, I hate them a lot, but isn't that HARSH? lol, I remember when I said stuff like that. It is actually, quite FUN! Sorry, split personality.
I'm half and half, I think Paramore is okay. They do however have a tendency of showing up where they don't belong, like with Eyes Set To Kill and Within Temptation. Paramore has its fan base but its not coming from the screamo, symphonic metal clubs... and apparently wood chipper union members, one of which is watching to much Fargo.
You know what else is easy to listen to? The sound of emo kids being shoved into wood chippers.
no matter how hard I try, I cannot get into this band.
and why do they play on my gothic metal stations? |
