I just did some research. The Snow Patrol version came out in 2004 on their album "Final Straw" and the Penny Loafers version came out in 2006 on their album "Quicksand". Looks like the Penny Loafers did the cover. Both are great songs, though. The Penny Loafers take on the song is very creative!

So who covered what? Did they cover Snow Patrol or did Snow Patrol cover this song?

Also quite similar to Die Prinzen. A very similar sound at any rate.
