Pete & J
Biography
Pete & J are Brooklyn, NY-based duo Pete Harper (vocals, guitar, piano and keys) Jason Blynn (vocals and guitar), who began playing together in college, with a sometimes-rhythm section of Sarab Singh (vocals, drums and percussion-he has been playing with Blynn off and on since they were both 11-years-old) and Whynot (vocals and bass). The result is an infectious mix of often acoustic-based power pop-tinged 21st century love songs with just a touch of folky country thrown in and all sung with gorgeous vocal harmonies. The Harper and Blynn duo self-released the album Without a Band in 2005, with the more elaborate and definitely radio-ready Dressed for Conversation appearing in 2006, followed by the EP Plenty Good Reasons, all of which received praise and positioned Pete & J near the top of the next-indie-pop-band-to-break-nationally sweepstakes. ~ Steve Leggett, All Music Guide

Excellent! Great guitar work, sharp clever lyrics, tight harmonies, all the best of the '60s acoustic folk sound with a bright, fresh young viewpoint. And yes, all the potential of a 'Simon & Garfunkle'. Thank you gentlemen, please keep up the good work.

Hey, nothing wrong with just plain good. Thanks, Diane B. Would like to hear more, Pandora, but thanks for giving them airplay!

Lord save us from the 'Yeah, but' - these guys are reminiscent of S&G AND they stand well on their own. They don't have to have a song like 'S.o.S.'
Yeah it does, but they don't have a song like Sounds of Silence
"Runnin' Round the World" Great vocal harmonies. Reminds me of Simon and Garfunkel

Sounds a lot like Justin Roth, and Storyhill (Chris Cunningham and John Hermanson).. . c o o l .
BTW, if you guys like these guys, just type in Joshua Radin for a station... you will find many many more songs like this, never heard before, but amazing all the same.
who are you guys? I'm listening to you for the first time on the Aztec Two Step station(1st time for them too) and I really like the songs. What's their story?

Love them! They're riffs and lyrics style is so much like Simon and Garfunkel.

Haven't listen to you guys in about a month, which I regret so much! Your music is so freaking mellow and fun to listen to. You know how to riff, but you also know how to chill, and diffenatly chill me out! I am TOTALLY asking for your albums for Christmas XD

Nice groove, man. Makes me want to explore this minimalistic sound. There is nothing to hide behind if you have no musical ideas. The vocals remind me of STING ...
