Pillar
Biography
Pillar is comprised of Rob Beckley (vocals), Lester Estelle (drums), Noah Henson (guitar), and Kalel (bass). These Christian rockers with an alt-metal edge have been honing their infectious sound since 1998 while attending Ft. Hays State University in northwestern Kansas. A deal with Flicker was inked in 2000 after the band's self-released debut, Metamorphosis, impressed the label. Within months, Pillar followed things up with Above. Their first single, "Open Your Eyes," was popular on the college charts, earning Above nearly 60,000 in sales. Pillar also earned the Best Rock Band award at the annual Dove Awards in 2001. A year later, Pillar relocated to Tulsa, OK, and released Fireproof. MCA picked up the band and reissued the energetic sophomore effort in 2003. Where Do We Go from Here appeared in mid-2004, and The Reckoning followed two years later. ~ MacKenzie Wilson, All Music Guide

Pillar is one of the best bands around... For The Love of The Game is even better than The Reckoning! And you guys are absolutely right! WC you can add Disciple to your list as well! They even put the scripture references with the lyrics!
I agree ALL THE WAY with you WC Rhapsode i don't know what else to say you took the words right outta my mouth!
My favorite type of music is Christian melodic death metal, yet still Pillar is still the ultimate band in the universe, and For The Love Of The Game totally reinforced that. By the way Dtrain Christian metal is just metal with the right message. And I know so many more people who rather listen to Christian metal over secular metal, because Christian metal is more powerful. I'll pray for you though.
I am SICK of satanists and atheists and all sorts of "philosophic a l l y superior" people claiming that metal dedicated to Christ sucks. Check out Horde, Frost Like Ashes, Impending Doom, With Blood Comes Cleansing, Mortal Treason, or As I Lay Dying, and see if they are not almost identitcal, if not better than the secular poison in sound and fury. By the way: DOWN WITH SATAN AND ALL HIS PATHETIC COHORTS. May God arise; may His enemies be shattered!
Yes we get all bent on Christian music ,but He's the only thing worth singing about
Cracks me up how everyone gets all bent on Christian music. It is MUSIC! It is the one thing in life that instantly provokes passion and emotion. So why in world are all these people so amazed they are singing about their religion? Give me a break. And dtrain... you should learn more about who or what you are representing with the 666. You have no idea. I feel pitty for you. JC's got my back who has yours? Oh ya, Pillar rocks, the strength and power they have is inspiring.
It's funny how dtrain666 says what he says even though he bookmarked 3 other 'christian' artists.
I just don't get it, how do people not realize that the words christian and metal can not be in the same genre description without sucking a**
theyre Christians too?!?! seriously everything i ever get anymore on pandora is Christian bands
Come on Pandora, get "For The Love Of The Game"!!!
;) Pillar and Skillet are the two best Christian bands in the genre imo. |
I'd also like to note that when I saw them in concert, Lester (drummer) had on a pink shirt that said "Jesus Loves Pornstars Too" which I think is awesome.
I love Pillar. I don't feel it's necessary to point out the Christian band thing. Or use this board as a religious venting board.
even if you don't believe in Jesus, it can't hurt to say, "Hey Jesus, If you are real, Show me! I don't have faith but I do have faith if you are real then you can show me how you are really the Messiah!" Come on Jesus! Be Glorified!
hey richard-dodd , red is awesome. I like the way that all the chriatian heavy rock bands spread the word of our savior, JESUS
Someone needs to add "For the Love of the Game" to the discography. It is the album that got me hooked to Pillar.
Definetly an awesome group of rockers. Love the rock, love the lyrics, and i love God. ROCK on Piller.
Pillar rocks it LIVE too. Nice guys as well. I like that they dont water down what they are trying to get through in their message
To each is own.. You dont need to believe in "God" to enjoy good music. In my standpoint, God dosent exist the way the "Bible" presents it. He might have been alive yes, Jesus was alive yes. But not one being can have all the power in the universe.. Provide me proof he did, then I shall believe.. But other then that, no need to force Religeon on someone! :)
i like the song " frontline"
erik u don't have to be a Christian to listen to Christian music! i just pray that one day you turn to God and join the fellowship!! i will pray for u! :)(: |
