Plumb
Biography
Singer/songwriter Tiffany Arbuckle fronted the Dove Award-winning alternative rock band Plumb during the late '90s, and adopted the name Plumb for her subsequent full-fledged solo career. She was born in Indianapolis and grew up in Atlanta, where she took several gigs as a backup singer and wound up touring in that capacity instead of going to college, as she'd planned. She relocated to Nashville, where she landed a record deal based on her session and backup work and formed Plumb with a neighbor, songwriter and producer Matt Bronleewe. Plumb issued two studio albums, 1997's Plumb and 1999's candycoatedwaterdrops, and built a following via its adult alternative rock sound. When the group's relationship with its label began to fray, it issued a hits compilation in 2000 and disbanded, with Arbuckle deciding to pursue work as a songwriter instead. However, a note from an inspired fan convinced her to soldier onward as a performer, and Arbuckle (now using Plumb as a stage name) inked a solo deal with Curb in 2003. That same year, she co-produced her solo debut, Beautiful Lumps of Coal, and landed two of its songs -- "Sink n' Swim" and "Boys Don't Cry" -- on the soundtrack to the Gwyneth Paltrow film A View from the Top. Another compilation, Simply Plumb, arrived in 2005, followed by Chaotic Resolve in February 2006. Following that release, Arbuckle found herself pregnant with her second child, effectively rendering her unable to tour. Upon the urging of her husband, she remained home and penned the softly inspired Blink, which was released in October 2007. ~ Steve Huey & Andrew Leahey, All Music Guide

I like her, and agree she is very similar to Brooke Fraser. Also agree that Within Temptation is perhaps more exciting.

stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid plumb.

I like a lot of their harder rock songs, but overall I like Within Temptation better.
"Better" (from Chaotic Resolve) is an AWESOME breakup song!!!!! One of the best!!!!! I rarely get tired of it.
She is singing about her baby and toddler sons in the song, My Sweet, My Lovely, the whole album is dedicated to her newest role Motherhood.
That's great! "upon the arguing of her husband...." i love it! That's one of my thoughts is that i won't see much of my family if i choose to be an artist who has to leave home for periods of time!
She's singing about a plumb in the song 'My Sweet, My Lovely' right? < < > > j/k I like Plumbs' style, I like Plumb.
She does remind me of Amy Lee, but she's still different from her. She has a beautiful voice!
Wow, GR8 stuff. I have never heard of her before....Sh e has a good voice,B-E-A- U - t i f u l .

@ njmnort
LOL Try doing a bit more research. Parts of the bible were written originally before Jesus (obviously the old testament). Parts were written after (obviously the new testament). None of it was originally written in English, again not a shocker. The original texts are written in a multitude of languages including Greek and Aramaic (a old form of Hebrew) and others. Translation lost a lot of the meaning of certain words especially considering how languages change over time. But |

Amazing! I heard this song in 2000 when i was doing a semester abroad in London and LOVED IT! Didn't know name or title and haven't heard it since!!! Pandora You Rock!!!!
Wow what a surprise. Never heard of her prior to discovering on Pandora. Absolutely top rate, seasoned, lasting and mature act. Fantastic. Complements of an evil atheist.
xenomancer, i believe the Bible is not just a book. it is God's word. it is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword. it is NOT 'dark ages'. that was just the period when it was translated into english. if you knew anything about it, you'd know that it was ACTUALLY written before christ. no offense, but your comment doesn't make sense at all.
I wish there was a "report spam" option so that I can get Weeping_Will o w _ X I I I to SHUT UP.
BTW, Alicia, the bible was SOOOO Dark Ages! It's the modern era! Splice your genes, spread your wings, and get a child based off an AI program. (If you haven't noticed, I left this comment for the lulz) |

Amos, Chapter 7
Verse 7: "Thus he shewed me: and, behold, the LORD stood upon a wall made by a plumbline, with a plumbline in his hand. Verse 8: And the LORD said unto me, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumbline. Then said the LORD, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel: I will not again pass by them any more." |

Not a bad singer at all. And Evanescence is similar to her (except Evanescence is not a Christian band)
I guess pandora found me yet another new artist to listen to :) |
No, I am pretty sure the b is suppose to be there. The name is based off a verse in the Bible that talks about a plumbline. I can't remember where the verse is sorry. When I find it I'll post it.
I -really- think she meant to name herself 'Plum' not 'Plumb'. XD
There is an album on Myspace with a picture of a plum on it. I was always suspicious as to whether the b was intentional or a confusion. |
I am an advent fan of dance and club music, and its great that this genre can be found in the Christian relm as well. I love "in my arms"
I'm a believe but I don't normally listen to Christian music. This band got me listening to a lot of different Christian Rock bands.
Love them! Have never heard of them before now and I love them! Have I already said that? Lolz
Love Plumb!!! And her mother is such a wonderful person...who is great to have a long talk with!
oh yeah...so many people disregard groups when they are labelled as Christian. I do it myself. I've heard kick-a** songs in movies and found out later that the band is Christian oriented. Unfortunatel y in the past so many groups that were "Christian" didn't seem to have the same quality of music as secular...bu t not so much anymore. There are several groups that really have a really good sound! (Plumb is a Christian group. I dunno why it's even being argued really??)
Saw Plumb in concert many years ago opening for Jars of Clay...wow it was great! I went out and bought "Candycoated w a t e r d r o p s " . Since then kinda disappointed with the mellow songs that I've heard. She does have an amazing voice.
This is a completely Christian artist. I know, all I listen to is Christian Rock.
she's not a satanist. you guys are so off. she's a christian. far from satanic stuff...
Satanist? You're either being sarcastic, or completely retarded. And for the record, Pentagram is from the 70's, and has NO CONNECTION with Plumb or Tiffany Arbuckle. Just to clarify.
i love the song "in my arms" on the album "Blink"!!! (its awesome!)
if you like this, check her other band Pentagram
they're a little harder but still great |
