Project 86
Biography
Project 86 is an intense foursome Christian rock band from Southern California. Members are vocalist Andrew Schwab, pianist, guitarist, and vocalist Randy Torres, drummer Alex Albert, and bassist and guitarist Steven Dail. With powerful guitar riffs and hammering drums, this group's hardcore sound is comparable to that of Tool, Korn, Helmet, Rage Against the Machine, and Limp Bizkit. Schwab, Torres, Albert, and Dail spent a lot of time on their home ground in Orange Country polishing their sound and performances before taking to the road nationwide. They have appeared with groups like Liquid Gang, Five Iron Frenzy, Ultraspank, Supertones, and the celebrated group P.O.D., playing packed shows and festivals.
In 1998, Project 86 released its self-titled debut album for BEC Recordings. The album sold well, quickly raising the group to one of the top sellers for BEC. Exceptional singles from the album landed on the CMJ, Hits Magazine, Box Video, and Album Network charts. Some tracks were used on popular shows like Road Rules and The Real World, both on MTV. A few of the heavy tunes from the album are "Spill Me," "Six Sirens," "Bleed Season," and "When Darkness Reigns."
Project 86 went back into the studio and came out in 2000 with their sophomore album, Drawing Black Lines, recorded under the Atlantic Records label. Well-known producer GGGarth and prominent engineer Bryan Carlstrom have both worked with the adept group. The guys followed up for Atlantic in 2003 with Truthless Heroes before jumping to Tooth & Nail for 2004's Songs to Burn Your Bridges By. The band's fifth album, And the Rest Will Follow, appeared in the fall of 2005. ~ Charlotte Dillon, All Music Guide

Awesome band, from a devout pagan! intense and honest, great riffage. Remind me a little of FNM's heavy stuff.

these guys are seriously the only band i can listen to for DAYS STRAIGHT!! i have done that... it was awesome. I love the variation between songs and albums, and i love how truthless heroes has the storyline over the album... but i wish that they would perform stuff from that album in concert! oh well, i went to see them on halloween last year, and it still ranks as the best concert i ever went to. it was sweet.

P86 is heading out on their fall tour with Showbread!!! That will be a great show.
Picket Fence Cartel is pretty awesome. Very reminiscent of Drawing Black Lines.
Can't wait for Picket Fence Cartel. Sounds like they're returning to their original hard rock roots. They're finally coming to the East Coast with the Scream The Prayer Tour. GREAT YEAR for a P86 fan.

New album in July, tour with Haste The Day to support it. And it's coming to San Diego. Life is good

This band is incredible! Hard rock mixed with thought provoking poetry for lyrics! I own all of their music but I still have to say that stein's theme is my favorite song. "We aren't playing by your rules, we'll never play the fool. So, no, you cannot take what's inside of me". Awesome!
i want season passes to Magic Mountain now...hopefu l l y i can see them there too!!!
i found out about these guys on a video game of all places, loved that one song so much, i had to see them in concert.
Their singer reminds me of a caged lion when they are on stage, coiled and ready to strike and explode. One of my fav live bands, will see them when they play @ Magic Mountain CA this September
I want to thank every single person who has a comment on this band thus far! Everybody is commenting on the band and their talent. No one is taking up personal agendas or just biting at each other(like on so many other pages).
BTW - These guys rock - and, yes their videos are sick! |
I Love You P86! Keep rocking. I can apply all of your songs to my life in one way or another. God Bless
My favorite non-metalcor e band. Which says a lot. Probably my second or third favorite band. One of my faves from this band is Hollow Again.
your fates still undecided... .
RETURN! RETURN! RETURN! yah, that songs awesome (its subject to change btw) |
theyre pretty danged awesome....i love chimes, that song is so dark and awesome!!! theyre definitely one of my top bands
a great band but i cant listen to breakneck speed on pandora for some reason
I love this band! They are the only band I have gone to see in concert and it was totally worth it. Their music is very diverse, but it all has so much power and emotion behind it that all of it rocks. Their lyrics are possibly the best part of the music. The songs all have solid messages, and it's very interesting to hear a anti-establi s h m e n t message, of sorts, coming from a christian band. They are definitely my favorite band.
They are pretty good as far as christian bands go. They give us alittle more then streight up worship, and can remind us of what we are, as well as wher we are. Just listen.
#1 band on my list of "To see in concert:". GIVE THE EAST COAST SOME LOVE!
I believe this was actually one of the first bands I called myself a fan of. They're one of the few bands I actually buy CD's from. Best CD is Songs to "Burn Your Bridges By"... SICK stuff. What the review above left out was that they couldn't stand being under Atlantic Records... that's why you hear so many angst in the lyrics in "STBYBB". Plus the song "Goldengate Disaster" just gives it away. :) |
That was a dope show. 1st time I got to see LS play live. Can't wait for the new materials. P86 rocked it too....
I was at the show in Pomona, it was absolutely insane! Best concert I've been to in a long time. All the bands (especially P86) were awesome!
They are playing with Demon Hunter and Living Sacrifice in Pomona at the end of May. Best shows of the year. Check out their videos too- they are well done as well. Besides Sonny, best vocalist out there...
P86 rocks! They are such an amazingly diverse band! Andrew Schwab's vocals are incredible. If you haven't checked them out, be sure to listen to different albums to gauge them accurately. They're not your typical heavy band. They're so much more with the staying power to back it up.
*FYI, they had a debut album previous to Drawing Black Lines as well. |
Best band EVER! Seriously, these guys have loads of muscle behind their music, and intelligent lyrics as well. If you're already a fan, I have to urge you to spread the word! Most rock fans listen to sold-out crap like Linkin Park, and all those other extremely popular bands with nothing behind them. If you never heard of P86, then what are you waiting for?! Check them out now, because you have no idea what you've been missing. I'll take the "thank you" in advance.
