Puddle Of Mudd
Biography
One of the first acts signed to Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst's label, Flawless Records, was the alt-metal quartet Puddle of Mudd -- consisting of Wesley Scantlin (guitar and vocals), Paul Phillips (guitar), Douglas Ardito (bass), and Greg Upchurch (drums). While their songs expectedly contain the rage of such contemporaries as Korn and Rage Against the Machine, Scantlin's voice at times is eerily similar to Nirvana's late, great frontman, Kurt Cobain, containing unmistakable elements of traditional hard rock (unlike the other aforementioned band's penchant for rap). August 2001 saw the release of their major-label debut, Come Clean (which was preceded by the independent release Abrasive), as they embarked on a European tour with Godsmack a month later, before touring the U.S. as part of the Family Values 2001 tour, alongside Stone Temple Pilots, Linkin Park, and Staind. The band subsequently remained somewhat busy, releasing Life on Display in 2003 and Famous in 2007. ~ Greg Prato, All Music Guide

i think crustyjohnso n means that he thinks puddle of mudd are gay male prostitutes. that's my interpretati o n .

I have never heard of this band before and then it came up, and yea, they rock.
um, how are they whores exactly? |
HAH! They fixed Come Clean's cover. Used to show Dirty Diamonds by Alice Cooper
They sound like s**t just like Nirvana did. Stupid corp radio bullshit. every f**king song sounds the same. i hope they end like nirvana did and just as quick!
They do NOT sound like they are trying to be Nirvana. I'm sure they know they can't compare even though they are good.
I honestly don't see how they're that similar to Nirvana. They sound SLIGHTLY like Nirvana with the angsty s**t, but they're pretty distinctive, unique, and ORIGINAL, which seems pretty hard to come by with a lot of contemporary rock bands.
"completely original"? no offense, but these guys try just a little too hard to be.......... N i r v a n a ! ! That's not a bad thing, but it's not original.
huh... i thought i already posted something for puddle of mudd just a little while ago... anyways, this band kicks a**. completely original.

please stay off of my stations! it's not that this band is bad! i just don't like them!
Paul, u are soo right. It seems like everyone hates my fave bands (Three days grace and Papa Roach being the top 2)
I think these guys really got their name from the night the members met a gay swingers party. Puddle of Mud refers to the lake of shitt and jizz in their underware after gettin butt plugged all night.
I am pretty sure that one song is called "He Hate Me", you know like that one football player in the XFL. I think it is an ode to his X boyfriend. Fred fukkin durst likes these guys.....nuf said!!! |
i shoulda said impressed by "art" in the statement below btw...
god there are a lot of people who hate so many good bands like nickelback, green day, three days grace...and puddle of mudd! i don't understand why they bash them, saying that these great bands hav stupid-a** lyrics....th e s e guys aren't here to make u think, they're making music so people actually have something to be entertained. after all, 90% of people listen to music to be entertained, not to think of any deeper meaning or be impressed by art...

+DEATH TO YOUR GODS+ |

Great band, and "She Hates Me" is a great, funny song. News flash: none of these bands are philosopher- g e n i u s e s ; they are entertainers with some good hooks and abrasive guitars.
AN EMBARRASSMEN T TO ROCK N ROLL. EMBARRASSING FOR ME TO HAVE THIS POP UP ON ONE OF MY STATIONS. I AM FROM KANSAS CITY AND THESE GUYS ARE AS WELL, YET AGAIN EMBARRASSING . TO ME IT'S A TOSS UP BETWEEN THESE GUYS AND NICKELBACK FOR WORST BAND IN THE WORLD.
Nirvana completely changed music in just three years. Who wouldn't want to be Nirvana (minus the lead singer dying.)
Good band, saw them Eve 6 and Saving Abel last summer, FOR FREE!!! Great show!
Who gives a s**t if they're immitators!? They are good immitators, and i love their music
Puddle of Mudd is an amazing band. No need to be dissing other awesome bands like the Foo Fighters and Three Days Grace if you don't like someone dissing the band you like. I did see Puddle of Mudd live too and they rocked.
