The Raconteurs
Biography
A self-described "new band made up of old friends," the Raconteurs feature the White Stripes' Jack White and power pop maestro Brendan Benson on vocals, keyboards, and guitars, and the Greenhornes' drummer Patrick Keeler and bassist Jack Lawrence as the group's rhythm section. The idea for the band began when Benson and White collaborated on the song "Steady, as She Goes," which later became the Raconteurs' debut single. When the duo drafted Keeler and Lawrence, they became a full-fledged band. Recording together at Benson's East Grand Studio whenever they were available from their other projects, the Raconteurs recorded their debut album, Broken Boy Soldiers, over the span of a year and released it in spring 2006 to middling reviews but a Top Ten place on Billboard's album charts. That year, the band also relocated to Nashville and worked on another batch of songs in between touring and dates at festivals such as Lollapalooza. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide

it might get loud was the greatest movie of 2009 |
that might be why led zeppelin is the first artist on the "similar artists" lists.
i think im going to see it might get loud as well. so it was good...? one thing that confuses me about this band...the bio says its a new band made out of old friends. i know jack white, but i have never heard of any of the other people. can anyone explain for me? |

See? Moomoo is on board: moomoo007 says: 10-12-2009
"OMG, this is.......TRU E METAL! I'm going to delete all my other stations now." What are you doing today to promote TRUE metal? |
Hey I just saw "It might get loud". Go see it! A great homage to the creative process.
technically they are still together, but they really aren't coming out with any new material
Is Jack White still in that band with his sister, or did he break up when they got a divorce?
uhm, i'm not the biggest fan but like what Jack did in the white stripes. Every song i hear from his other bands are a constant dissapointme n t .
Besides, how long can you listen to the white stripes even before it drones into one continuous song. Great guitarist and creative, just not that great... |
y'all are some freaks! It's awesome.
Band Whore? Why is it whorish to stretch your musical legs with other people who inspire you. If you never try new s**t, you've never got new s**t to offer. Anyways...I' m down with some Jack White. Besides the fact that I'm sure there are some other rad dudes in The Raconteurs.. . |
I am really wondering how Bigshow5 did that, he must have either Bruce Lee level hacker skills or really bad luck.
Jack White sounds like he might smell a little like vomit. That is not a good thing.
stripes are better because jack completly controls every thing, probly even the drums, just listen to the dead weather
The Broken Boy Soldiers album is really good, I can't stop listening to it, I don't care if Jack is a band whore, he keeps it rockin no matter what...

Anyway, i like the soul they put into the first album. |
Fantastic band. Head and shoulders above White Stripes for sure. Easy to love SASG, Switch and The Spur, Carolina Drama and Rich Kid Blues
