Raintime
Biography
Detail-oriented Italian death metalists Raintime formed in 1999. Inspired by their common love of Dream Theater, Claudio Coassin (keyboards), Luca Michael Martina (guitar), Matteo Di Bon (guitar), and Michele Colussi (bass) formed the core of Raintime and recorded the instrumental demo "Jump in the Past." Soon after the demo sessions were over, the band went through a lineup change, with Coassin moving from keyboards to vocals, new drummer Enrico Fabris joining the fray, and Andrea Corona taking over keyboard duties. As their sound moved into a wider spectrum (and they maintained a continuing interest in progressive metal), the influence of Scandinavian melodic/extreme metal and the riffs and guts of metalcore and thrash found their way into the mix. They released their debut album, Tales from Sadness, on Arise Records in 2005 and followed it up with Flies & Lies, produced by Tommy Hansen (Helloween, Pretty Maids) and released on the Lifeforce label in 2007. ~ J. Another Transition kicks a**! I hope I hear more of them. I keep getting In Flames songs on 2 of my playlists and then these guys came up and this one song is better then all the In Flames Songs I have heard so far.
Popularity =/= Quality apparently. |
I have NEVER heard of this band before, and don't know anything about them, but I know one thing:
Tears Of Sorrow might just be the greatest song ever written. Period. It ROCKS!!! |
Raintime is amazing. If nobody has listened to Scar Symmetry yet and you like Raintime check them out as well. Melodic ftw \m/
Also Nocturnal Rites would surely fit your tastes as well. |
Dude, as soon as I heard this I thought Melodic Death Metal...Nowh e r e near screamo. Wise the f**k up. You're almost as bad as my cousin man.
\m/ (*_*) \m/ |
Just heard Rolling Chances! F**king Awesome! Whoever said details are unimportant was dead wrong!
@Weeping Willow XIII: What the f**k is your f**king deal, you piece of s**t. Why the f**k do you love Godsmack so much? They are a s**tty band in a s**tty genre. You would probably like Korn and Slipknot, even though nobody else does. Do you like any metal bands other than f**king Godsmack. If so, respond to this comment with a list. If not, as I suspect, then you need to go freeze to death at the North Pole. You should do this either way, in case you were wondering, you f**king piece of s**t!!!
for real though guys, just because there are screamed vocals, does not make it screamo...a genre of music is defined more by the....music . XD this is considered Metalcore of melodic death metal, not screamo...go listen to My Chemical Romance, Atreyu or something... t h a t is emo music.
Dude, screamo! I don't think anyone knows the definition, this isn't screamo. Educate yourself, you're making metalheads look ignorant. Metal up!
Sounds like progressive metal(opeth, dream theater, between the buried and me) I just heard a song from them for the first time and I really enjoy it. I'll be checking more of their stuff later!
When you combine cookie monster with clear vocals the contrast works. A Great example is "The Thorn" by Leaves' Eyes.
I like it when they scream but regardless i still like a variety xDDD
Wow.. They're not screamo at all. They're melodeath, like In Flames. Maybe you're confusing hardcore punk for emo?
You guys are right. I, too, am not a big screamo fan, but the quality of their music made me cut them a great deal of slack.
I must admit... I am not a fan of screamo, but I find myself liking these guys more and more each day. Interesting blend of great musicianship and vocals... started catching their music on my Circus Maximus channel :-)
These guys kick a**! Actually, the lead singer is a really shy, polite guy, heh.
