Rammstein
Biography
Rammstein was formed in 1993 by an assembly of factory-weary proletarians raised in East Germany. They took their name (adding an "m") from the location of a German tragedy where 80 people were hurt and killed as the result of a crash during an American Air Force flight show. The literal translation of "ram stein" is a battering ram made of stone. Word of Rammstein's horror romanticist blend of theater and music spread like wildfire. One-time Olympic swimmer Till Lindemann would sing entire songs engulfed in flame from head to toe. The band's first album, Herzeleid (Heartache), built on the grounds created by the band's live reputation. Scaling the German charts (and remaining there until the release of the second Rammstein LP some two years later), the album also introduced the band to the world outside of the Germany/Switzerland/Austria region. As Rammstein's second album, Sehnsucht (Longing), was released, the band was headlining throughout Europe to crowds of 10,000 to 30,000 people. Sehnsucht entered the German charts at number one immediately upon its release and came very close to doing the same in Austria and Switzerland. Within weeks, entries on other countries' charts had Sehnsucht rubbing elbows with the Prodigy, Radiohead, and the Rolling Stones on Billboard's cumulative Eurochart. From there the fever spread, transcending any perceived language barrier. Mutter followed in 2001, Reise, Reise in 2004, and the live collection Volkerball in 2006. ~ Ed Nimmervoll, All Music Guide

lol, you don't need to understand German to appreciate their music! xDDD
@Fuse: No man, you got me wrong. I didn't say you made them up and if I did, I'm sorry. Just saying that a lot of people have different reports on everything. Nothing insulting man... |

don't understand a bloody word of German, but I really like this band.I'm glad they sing in German it makes them even more unique.

Well you could google it if you don't believe me. Many of the bios are inaccurate on Pandora. They just use what is on All Music, not write their own. All Music knows their bios are often wrong and provides a feedback system so the users can give them corrections. Saves them time and money.
Why would I just make up those numbers, and the name of the (now banned) maneuver? |
If you like one song you like them all. I find it stupid when someone askes what my favorite is. It is impossible to have only one favorite. As far as the lyrics being "brutal, harsh, and explicit" how is that any different then the lyrics in some of the songs by American artists?... They write about what is real, what matters. Also (psqurley 321) the song on Mortal Kombat Annihilation is Engel. Oomph! is another decent German band.
I'd much rather believe the bios of a respected company than someone posting that half of them are wrong. Pandora has no reason to write false bios
Chill dude or dudet, whichever you are :/ |
Rammstein's a good band, though. Along with Sabaton, they make my days amazing...
Not to mention, almost every disaster that occurs on this planet, has various reports on it that vary to a slight degree. No use bashing them, you won't get anyone man...
Where do they get these jokers that write the bios?
It was at Ramstein AFB, but it was the Italian AF stunt team going for the pierced heart. Almost 70 people were killed, not 80 (maybe Ed Nimmervoll was confused since it happened in 88), but hundreds were injured. I swear half the bios I read on Pandora are wrong. Why even bother to write stuff if you're just making it up? They really need some way of providing feedback on the bios. I've seen some that don't even have the right names for the |

they're cool as hell love them cant understand most of it but meh love them anyway...
I've always loved Rammstein but just recently one of my good friends would not listening to them, so i just love them now....they rock!!!!

No Problem, They're awesome, right!? I think every one who doesn't know German should take advantage of this site. Rammstein has amazing gitarre rifts, due to the awesom power of Richard Z. & Paul Landers, Crazy Battery by Schneider, Great keyboards - "Flake", Pretty decent bass by Ollie, and a strong; and an extremely powerful voice to go w/ it - Till. But what really makes "Rammstein" Rammstein, is the lyrics...the y really know how to make it their own.

The perfect site for Rammstein lyrics turned into English is Herzeleid.co m , they translate it so that the over all feeling of Rammstein's songs are not ruined by getting lost in tranlation. So if u don't speak fluent German, this is the perfect site 4 u. ;) DONT USE Freetranslat i o n . c o m or babelfish.co m , they only transfer German into plain and general english phrases. Get it from a real live person...u will definately get a lot more out of their songs.

RAMMSTEIN! I have been through a lot w/ this band. In fact I see them as more than a band, theyre a legend; story tellers, idealists, inspiration, and all around good fun. Almost 5 years I have been listening to their works of art. My favorite cd is "Riese, Reise" due to the flow of perfect arrangement & composition topped w/ amazing lyrics. The best song; in my opinion is "Ohne Dich"...I'll play it at my wedding. All in all they're pioneers in their line of work. Explore mor of their songs.
If you have a delicate disposition, do NOT translate their lyrics! LOL
