Rehab
Biography
The Southern hip-hop duo called Rehab were literally a product of their namesake. Original members Danny Boone and Brooks Buford, both recovering alcoholics and drug addicts, met at a local rehab facility and connected over their love of music. Mashing rap with rock, the duo released their debut album, Southern Discomfort, in 2000 on the Sony label. Cee-Lo, Goodie Mob, and Cody ChesnuTT were some of the guests on the album, which would spawn the Top 15 modern rock hit "It Don't Matter." Two years were spent on the road supporting the album, including a stint on the Vans Warped Tour, and then the duo splintered. Boone retained the name and recruited four veteran musicians for a new Rehab. Now a quintet with Boone as the lone singer/rapper -- and also using his birth name, Danny Alexander -- Rehab signed with Arshid Entertainment and released the ambitious Graffiti the World in 2005. Over the next few years, a cut from their debut album, "Sittin' at a Bar," would turn into a jukebox favorite. The Epic label got wise, re-released their debut album and renamed it Sittin' at a Bar, all without the band's permission. To fight this unauthorized reissue the band re-recorded its now famous drinking song and renamed it "Bartender Song." This version would end up on a 2008 version of Graffiti the World released by the major label Universal. ~ David Jeffries, All Music Guide

Rehab is no where near Sublime tom petty or RHCP haha not even close. That's the worst comparison I've ever seen in my life.

yeah sublime rhcp and tom petty are just as good as rehab. and they pry got a lot of influence from those bands before they started
the fact that you list sublime, RHCP and Tom Petty as failures is a travisty in itself, clearly your taste in music and music history alone is lacking.

Rehab is the s**t! I love World Full of Crazy People and Lawnchair High. But my absolute favs are Bottles and Cans and Bump, Bump, Bump! These guys are from Warner Robbins GA which is not too far from where I grew up. I hate it that they didn't put that in the Biography.

I like how they compare Rehab to these Failures:
Sublime Red Hot Chili Peppers Puddle Of Mudd Tom Petty |

These dudes are very talented and passionate about the music. I relate heavily to their music and dig everything they've put out. Danny Boone (frontman) is a cool mofo. I had the chance to pound a few beers with dude after a show in Baton Rouge. All around cool dude. Peace.

The current musicians that make up Rehab are trash. Its the old stuff that's gold. Southern Discomfort is one of the best albums I've heard... too bad the members that made that album didn't stick together.
Southern Discomfort is one of there best cds ever... i like the unreleased s**t they have... im sure alot of people would like them alot better if they heard some of that... but i never want to hear them on the radio... even though brooks buford is a f**king sellout...

Graffiti The World is still in my cd player. I bought it about a year ago...to put that statement to scale, I barely listen to my Carter III and anymore, cuz I'm bumpin' 'bump'.
Due to my genetic disposition I've dubbed this my Anthem*
f**king love this song to this very day!! |
I'm not overly impressed, from what I've heard. It seems a little Hook-heavy, and the lyrics are a little lackluster. The meter and sound of these guys rhymes are almost instantly forgettable in the sea of ho-hum rop-rack hybrids. Don't get me wrong, I like the positive message, but it feels a little like these guys are on the outside of hip hop looking in, and they're trying to utilize a medium that they don't really understand. A bit too much after-school - s p e c i a l for my tastes.

rehab has come a long way from southern discomfort. no longer abnoxious but has spawned positive thinking about todays problems with the not so politically correct government.

www.rehabmus i c . c o m is their site, one of my all time favorite groups, I agree Southern Discomfort is the s**t! They're kind of inconsistant , they've broken up more than once, but Danny Alexander is the lyracist and the base of Rehab.
The album named "Southern Discomfort" by Rehab would be an awesome addition to Pandora's music selection. Thanx for the E-mail address reloaded234 I'll get right on that.
the need to put lawnchair high on pandora, not sure what album it is on but is a great song
There is only one album of Rehab on Pandora currently. Email suggest-musi c @ p a n d o r a . c o m and tell them to put more of Rehab's music on. "Graffiti the World" is the only album on and its really not as good as the other ones.
Rehab has a couple albums and they don't get much play here but I would love to see a show with them and Cunninlyngui s t s , that would be the shizzle!
