Russell Allen & Jorn Lande
Biography
Born in 1971, Rusell Allen found himself, like so many musicians, thrust into the midst of a musical family. His family's interests, however, were in the direction of country music, rather than Allen's chosen style of hard rock/heavy metal. After playing with numerous unknown bands, Allen joined Symphony X in 1995. He was the replacement for original singer Rod Tyler and has been with the band ever since. ~ Gary Hill, All Music Guide

Hmm... i hear a lot of singers in Russ's voice: Ray Alder, Lou Graham, David Coverdale, even a little Paul Rodgers.

Russell Allen is an amazing metal singer, and is also good in the epic bridges, but I don't like when he sings slow stuff.

Rusell Allen has a voice that can easily remind of some other singers - he can color it in such way without losing his identity. It is especialy noticeable on Atomic Soul album where he goes berserk with it. His intonation and phrasing is second to none but I hate when he goes too sweet.

Does anyone else get some vibes remniscent of Journey when they listen to these guys?

Stumbled onto these guys........ . . w o w . Inpressive upbeat well crafted rock that makes you feel on top of the world. You want to sing along to the melody and address all the garbage of your life. PLAY MORE OF THIS!
If you like Allen and Lande try out Khymera, Brother Firetribe, Leverage and Edguy. The Revenge by Lande and Allen ROCKS TOO! |

They need to get more of their stuff up and running. Some of the songs on this CD don't even have attributes tagged to them, so they'll never be played on the station.

So cool. Two of the best prog metal vocalists together with one spectacular composer. I'm looking forward to hearing the new album, The Revenge. The title track is great, both vocalists get great showcases of their range and talent. Allen is more gruff; Lande has spectacular control. Excellent album. Love the sound.
