Moegar the desire to punch emos after listening to this kind of music is only natural. It only means that you are in touch with your inner Metal. Rock on my friends. Rock Loud! HORNS UP!

I don't mind their first album missing, but it's a pity Pandora doesn't have Art of War.
Odd that no one's written a review yet. Actually, they really need to get Art of War. How am I supposed to request that they find it? |
I disagree Benjamin, Sabaton combines all the best element of those bands and molds it into a power metal triumph. Such fierce and methodical battle metal is rivaled by a very select few!
Saxon and Manowar with a little Savatage and Helloween in for good measure. Not bad, but not that special either.
Stupid 500 word limit... ...kick a** songs paying homage to their roots.
Other bands play, Sabaton WAGES WAR!!! \m/ |
I have found Attero Dominatus in a record store and ordered Primo Victoria (an import) but after about 6 weeks have heard nothing about it being in yet. If you go to www.Sabaton. n e t you can buy their albums (more than just these two) as downloads and I may do that if I'm unable to get them as real flesh and blood to hold in my Fist of the Metal Child. This is by far my new favorite band and yeah Metal Machine and Metal Crue are about the best of the 80's Metal, both very kick a** songs paying ho

Mike, "Gates of Babylon" is a song by Rainbow.
Anyways, Sabaton is awesome. I've been listening to them before Pandora Radio, but I still love it when one of their songs comes up. |
Superb music. Easily one of the best metal bands I've heard in a while. Now if only I could find a store that sells them...
When I first heard Sabaton I was away from the computer and just thought"Oh my god who are these people". Metal Machine is one of the most epic songs I've heard in a long time. Sabaton, you rock my pants off.
According to Wikipedia, the song Metal Machine is "About heavy metal, the song is built up around songtitles from bands like Iron Maiden, Manowar, Judas Priest, Rainbow, Dio, Metallica, W.A.S.P., Accept, Helloween, Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath."
Into the Fire has the best intro out of any song I've heard except Nemo (my favorite song).
I'd really like to hear more songs by this band, I've only heard that one. |
Daniel, Metal Machine does reference war, "The gates of Babylon are open and wide" references the destruction of the Babylonian empire around 1900BC. On a different note, Sabaton knows how to choose their words for their songs very well. They are very fun to listen to.
there is only one word to describe Sabaton; Epic! to myself and many of my friends Sabaton is the definition of Epic metal. i have found a few bands that come close in musical performance, but when combined with the signature vocals by Joakim Broden, it blows all competition away. they claim to be the finest metal band in Sweden, humble aren't they?
Sabaton freaking Rules. And all their songs have at least one reference to War, ( I'm not sure about Art of War-Don't own it...yet). These guys just know how to make music awesome. The songs may at first seem like grunge metal, but they have the perfect voice to go with the music. If their voice was any different, I doubt I would like them at all. They are Amazing.
There are songs about WWI, WW2, NAM, Desert storm, basically everything.
They need to get "Art of War" on here pronto, because it f**king kicks a**!!
Hail true metal! |
Woooo! Sabaton rules!
A lot of their songs are about WWII, but a fair number are about other wars, including Vietnam, WWI, and the '67 War. |
Kevin, I'm like 90% sure most of the songs are about WWII, but maybe Vietnam, can't be certain.
which wars are most of their stuff based on. just found this song on my blind guardian list thinking about setting it as a station sounded really good and im a history major in college so even better.
pretty damn good its got some real fire to it. I like it I'll have to get some for my Ipod.
I agree. Art of War and Metalizer needs to be on here. Love these guys. They are one of my favorite bands.
I'm a fan of stuff like manowar (with things like sons of odin or warriors of the world) and other things like iron maiden(the trooper) and rammstein or nightwish and some dream evil. I'm a history buff and metal head too. What band could be better, come on, fresh stuff about WAR w/o completely glorifying it. They are something new that everyone should listen to instead of the emo c**p that is passed off as metal. Fresh heavy war metal. Enjoy their music and never turn back.
Great band, just wish Pandora could get their next album on here, it is the best.
I like this band but I couldn't help but notice that he sounds like an Arnold impersonator singing... GET TO THE CHOPPER... GET DOWN.... who is your daddy and what does he do...
For anyone intersted as I was, here is the website http://www.s a b a t o n . n e t / b a n d . h t m l . Good story, better music.
Sabaton is my favorite metal band. Hands down, no competition for me. Great band...
This band had solid musicianship and the singers gritty raw voice is perfect for the work they produce. The sncopated drum lines are very reminiscent Iron Maiden and the historical leaning again brought to mind the noted and much honored British rockers. Let's be honest being reminisent of Maiden ain't a bad thing! NOT AT ALL!
