Scary Kids Scaring Kids
Biography
Taking their name from a Cap'n Jazz song, Phoenix sextet Scary Kids Scaring Kids began spewing impassioned post-hardcore that could be both shriekingly spastic and soothingly melodic in the early 2000s. Known for a reckless, incendiary live show, the band originally comprised Tyson Stevens (vocals/bass), DJ Wilson (guitar), Peter Costa (drums), and Chad Crawford (guitar). Wilson later picked up the bass following the addition of guitarist Steve Kirby and keyboardist Pouyan Afkary to the band's ranks. While still seniors in high school, the guys recorded their debut EP, After Dark, with Bob Hoag (Recover, the Format), independently releasing it that June before putting the band on the back burner. As members locally enrolled in college for the fall of 2003 -- and Costa returned to his first dream of working to be a concert pianist -- an escalating buzz around the band really began to take off, especially after the popular website absolutepunk.net posted their EP online. Next thing bandmembers knew, Scary Kids was back as their first priority with a new deal on Immortal Records. The label reissued After Dark in 2004. Recorded in five weeks under the production skills of Brian McTernan (Snapcase, Thrice), The City Sleeps in Flames appeared in June 2005. In spring 2006, Justin Salter officially took over drumming duties, replacing Costa in the band. Summer was spent on both the Warped Tour and separate dates with Haste the Day. ~ Corey Apar, All Music Guide

i have an idea... how about we all let people believe in whatever it is that they believe in, whether they follow a particular faith or not, and respect them for it...
Think of how many wars and other bs has been started through history because of people being ignorant towards another's beliefs. Besides, this is a freaking music site not a theology site. |

wow really they swing from ur nuts...thats different. anyway sksk r amazzing(hec k ya the word deserves two z's)
wow what's fail is that people are arguing over religious stuffs. what really matters is that SCARY KIDS SCARING KIDS IS AN EFFIN' GREAT BAND!
The bible is a fairy tale book that makes great toilet paper...
But back on subject.. Scary Kids Scaring Kids is a kick-a** band |

@mattoxdavid : you are very wrong about that. every religion but Christianity has been disproved by facts and scientific discoveries. science has only backed up the things stated in the Bible. in fact, the Bible is regarded as a very credible, historical text by even the non-christia n community. I recommend you check out this website, www.clarifyi n g c h r i s t i a n i t y . c o m especially click on the question "How Do I Know the Bible is True?" it is all supported by hard facts, even dealing with evolution.

religion is a stupid concept in general, its "Faith" based, not fact so you are ignoring any need for evidence of what you are being told is real or false aka being gullible
IM MORMON!! but on another note i like the songs faces and snake devil the best on this album
if you think scsk and silverstein are the best screamo bands, you need to re-educate yourself on screamo.

if you read the el libro de mormon then i appologize. though they do teach some pretty unconvention a l things they are just another religion. equally so as scientology, islam, or hinduism. |
just because i have an opinion doesnt make me ignorant; i have read the book of mormon and have friends that are mormon, its a religion made up by a kid who found some "magic" glasses...pr e t t y whack
"nah mormons are weird"
there you have it everyone. ignorance in action. i'm not even mormon but i'm educated enough that they are just like any other religion. |
whoever wrote this biography is wrong. peter didn't go do concert piano he went on an LDS mission to south america. thats right everyone mormons are human too. just take a second to find out who we really are. you might be surprised with by the things you will find.
Their new album rocks, and i think that 'Snake Devil' is the best one on it
