Serenity
Biography
Comprised of the trio of Malcolm Lane (harmonica, vocals), Phil Briggs (guitar, vocals), and Rob Sinclair (bass, vocals), this New Zealand group put out a respectable album of California psychedelia-influenced folk-rock, Piece of Mind. Originally issued in 1972, it was given an approximately equally obscure CD reissue several decades later. ~ Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide
Selected Discography
If this was 1972, I would have shredded sooner...lik e when I was 9 years old.

Pandora needs to get their second album Fallen Sanctuary up - as much as I like Words Untold & Dreams Unlived, Fallen Sanctuary is even better. These guys are awesome.
Yeah, there's no harmonica. Serenity is an Austrian band, and the album was not originally released in 1972. I doubt any of the members were even born then.
Harmonica? Where?
Aside from that, Pandora must underestimat e its ability to make the 'obscure' easily available to all, even if you didn't think you were looking for it in the first place. |
Ha, apparently Amazon has the exact same incorrect bio up for this group.
I honestly don't care how the music press wants to classify this, as it meets the only 'important' criteria - it sounds awesome. Good enough for me!
I'm pretty sure that's a bio for an entirely different group though. |

There's a (newer) album out, that isn't here, called Fallen Sanctuary. If you like Words Untold, check it out, it's really good, probably better than Untold.
i was going to say... i was not hearin' any harmonica or psychedelia- i n f l u e n c e d folk-rock in there.
ridiculous.. . this isn't folk rock... and the freaking bio doesn't even include a drummer
Pandora's information is incorrect for "Serenity". I am listening to a progressive metal track and Pandora information for indicates this is 1970's folk music. Actually, quite funny.
For some reason the lead singer reminds me a lot of Tony Kakko from Sonata Arctica. Makes me like this band even more.
I'm glad I went looking for more information on this band. They're from Austria, formed in 2001 and have four albums out. They're touring Europe Summer 2009, supporting Kamelot. That would be a good show! I can't wait to hear more from this band!
Please fix this bio, it's totally incorrect...

These guys are fantastic! Prog power metal at its absolute best, I can't believe they aren't at the forefront with Symphony X

this is the actual band bio - pandora has the wrong one listed!

What a Jewel of a band ! Prog-Power Metal musicians of the highest order !
they need the new album on here!!! i bought it the day it came out!!! it kicks my a**!!!!
I just listened to Canopus and realized it was about Dune. Oh my god this band kicks so much a**. Other bands might be "better", but this band has a very unique sound. It has more prog influence than other power metal bands, which I like.
@ jadkni: Yeah, no kidding. They also have a very regal sound, which really works for them
"Engraved Within" is so epic, though. As is their entire catalog, really. Their only "flaw" is that some bands are even better. I mean, this is what all symphonic power metal bands should aim for.
most of the bio's are wrong on pandora but to be honost i dotn care i just wikipedia it and you cant complain that much its a free internet radio

This bio is way wrong, please someone needs to fix this. Most of us Pandorites listen to this stuff to find new and previously unheard (to us) music, it's important that the facts are straight. Since I began to listen to Pandora everything about my listening habits has changed, due largely to the depth of the music and variety.

Per Wikipedia: Serenity are a melodic metal band from Austria with progressive metal and power metal influences. They took their name from an early 90's rock band from South Shields, England called Serenity. The group formed in January 2001, receiving "fine reviews" for their first demo.
