Biography
This '90s R&B vocal group should not be confused with the late-'70s Philadelphia band, which was a funk-oriented unit, or the vocal trio Silk from Los Angeles. Timothy Cameron, Jimmy Gates, Jr., Jonathen Rasboro, Gary Jenkins, and Gary Glenn issued their debut LP, Lose Control, in 1992 and have excited urban contemporary audiences, particularly women, with their engaging harmonies and aggressively suggestive material. Their single "Freak Me" was a huge hit in 1993; two years later, the group issued a self-titled LP for Elektra, followed in 1999 by Tonight. Silk came out in the early to mid 90's not the 70's. Biography has the wrong years.

The reason Silk sounds so hot is simply --Keith Sweat. Keith produces and writes for Silk. You can most definitely hear Keith in all their songs, especially in "Freak Me".

Whoever wrote the biography is sadly mistaken on their facts. They have applied this to the wrong Group as This Silk Group did not come onto the scene until the mid 90's and even they lost one member to a solo career. They are still together!!!

ummm, love the song but I belive someone put in the wrong write-up for this version of "Silk". On the album covers they are a foursome, not a trio, and those outfits sure as hell ain't 1970's! Wasn't "Freak me" released in the early 1990's?
