Soft Complex
Biography
The Washington, D.C., synth rock group Soft Complex feature Shane German (vocals), Chris Connelly (guitar/keys), Rich Dejong (drums), Mike Harbin (bass), and Alexia Kauffman (cello/keyboards). Creating a hypnotic new wave-influenced sound that echoes the polished bits of the Smiths, the Cure, and New Order, the indie rock collective formed in 2005 with selected members of the now defunct Burning Airlines, Engine Down, and Phaser. Shows with the likes of Radio 4, Junior Senior, Jaga Jazzist, Princess Superstar, and Bob Mould preceded the release of Soft Complex's debut album, Barcelona, in October 2006. ~ MacKenzie Wilson, All Music Guide
