Soil
Biography
Chicago-based alternative metal ensemble Soil formed in 1997 around the talents of vocalist Ryan McCombs, drummer Tom Schofield, bass player Tim King, and guitarists Adam Zadel and Shaun Glass. They released their debut EP, El Chupacabra!, in 1998, followed by the full-length Throttle Junkies in 1999. Their sophomore release (Scars) found success both nationally and internationally through two strong singles, "Unreal" and "Halo." It was followed in 2001 by an eponymous EP, and later in 2004 with re.de.fine. McCombs left the fold that year, eventually joining Drowning Pool. He was replaced by A.J. Cavalier on their 2006 debut for DRT, True Self. On October 20, 2009 the band released Picture Perfect, heralded by the single "Like it is". ~ James Christopher Monger, All Music Guide

I like this band well enough.
But I like Ryan in Drowning Pool way better. |
I thought the vocalist sounded familiar, did n ' t know he was in this band before drowning pool
Soil was awsome but once they lost Ryan they basically started making awful music. The 'Scars' album was their debut and their peak.
don't care for this group too much but they showed up on my "PRONG" channel
One of the best live bands I have ever seenlive. Just wait for the new one out this fall. AJ does a great job.
I saw Soil open up for Static-X several years ago. The next day I went out and bought their album. Freakin awesome band. Kinda fell off in later days though.
That's fine, you can think that way. Opinions are fine. I, however, like them. Their singer is awesome and their guitars are very creative. I like bands who don't sound like they are trying to sound good, this is a naturally awesome band. I really love Halo and Breaking Me Down.

I met the bass player Tim King at the IHOP near my house after one of there shows. Cool guy, he said my Dad rules!

NUMETAL SUCKS. This band is one of many that are ruining metal. F**k you korn lovers. They SUCK SUCK SUCK. No structure to their songs except basic pop-rock s**t reminiscent of glam rock structure of the 80s. F**K
they do sound pretty good, vocals better than korn. but they don't sound like disturbed. trust me i know, i ubsessed with disturbed. the vocals are not the same as Draiman's. but they are still good
I dont know what disturbed you have been listening to but his vocals sound nothing like David. And he definatley doesnt sound like Jonathan Davis. All in all, pretty good sound!
Much like Korn and Disturbed... b a s e d around the vocal cadence. Not too bad IMO
problem with fineland artists is that they are not American. The quality of Soil belongs to the vocals. good effort from the band but I think Ryan could pick up more talented artists.
They are trying. The problem is they're American. If they spent a year in Finland they would come back a much better band.
I think They must be good enough to bust out 4 albums cant be that bad go figure???
