The Sounds
Biography
The Sounds are a Swedish rock group including vocalist Maja Ivarsson, keyboardist Jesper Anderberg, bassist Johan Bengtsson, drummer Fredrik Nilsson, and guitarist Felix Rodriguez. The new wave throwbacks -- with unapologetic debts to Blondie and Missing Persons -- formed in the late '90s and recorded Living in America in Stockholm and Nilsson's Helsingborg apartment. The album hit number four the week after its Swedish release, and was picked up for U.S. release in May of 2003 through New Line. Dying to Say This to You followed three years later. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide

Thanks to Pandora I am now addicted to The Sounds...
And while something deep inside of me says I needed such an addiction about as much as I need a hole in my head...oh well! Thanks Pandora!! |

I usually dislike 80s music, but The Sounds put a new punk-rock twist on it. I love them!

Their sound is a perfect blend of my youth in the 80's but with enough influence of present to make me feel connected...

This band is f**kin great...they got a little 80's twist in their sound..saw them live and they can put on a great show..rock and roll is a one of my favs..hot lyrics...

I think Pandora has just about every song uploaded from both their albums. Kind of unusual really.

I first heard the lead singer in a video and then a friend told me about them, I love this group!!! the sounds have an awesome rythm and lyrics. they rock!

this band rocks, kinda sounds like shiny toy guns which is ok since their awesome also

If you ever get a chance to see this band live, jump on it! They played one of the best shows I've seen at the Gothic Theatre in Denver, Colorado!

I really like the Sounds for short spurts of time. while excellent they tire on my ears quickly. Their pop hooks and playful dance sounds are incredibly catchy, an attribute which I think is both their greatest success and most fatal flaw.

The more I listen to these guys, the more I like them. Definitely a strong Blondie influence, which is fine, since I like Blondie a lot.

Dying to say this to you is my favorite album right now. At first I only liked "song with a mission" (go rock band!), but then the whole album grew on me. "Painted by numbers" is amazing and my wife can't get "Night after night" out of her head. The Sounds makes me want to be a real drummer.
