Biography
Riverside, CA's Suicide Silence formed in 2002. A quintet, the band specializes in that 21st century metal phenomenon known as deathcore, and was signed to international mega metal label Century Media. The band managed to get things rolling quickly, save for a few lineup changes, and went from formation to deal in a mere two years. In the meantime, Suicide Silence issued one pre-deal EP -- the simply titled Suicide Silence -- which saw the light of day on indie labels At the Deep End and SOS Records. Their Century Media debut album, The Cleansing, was released in September of 2007, and was produced by John Travis. The album was a bit of a mover and shaker in the genre, breaking through to the Top 100 on the Billboard charts, and would become one of the label's biggest-ever sellers. Following the release of the album, the band toured steadily in the U.S. and Europe with Parkway Drive and Bury Your Dead. Members Mitch Lucker (vocals), Chris Garza (guitar), Mark Heylmun (guitar), Mike Bodkins (bass), and Alex Lopez (drums) had more reason to celebrate in 2008, as the band was added to the Mayhem metal festival, which hit stages that summer. ~ Chris True, All Music Guide

Suicide Silence is a band with a solid vocalist who writes damn good lyrics, s**tty guitarists, and an ok drummer.. They have some pritty damn good songs but im not into the whole breakdown after breakdown thing its kinda boring and repeditive. As a band in a whole they are good, but not great... but they sure as hell are better than gay a** winds of plague

There Death Metal with grooves just ask Garza of Lurker. Im sick of the haters, this band kick a**!! Just because your talented and have a large fan base doesn't make them a sell out! There f**kin Brutal! and if your not down with SS then PULL THE TRIGGER B**CH!! And one more thing Mitch has the best vocals on the scene period.

You guys are critics. I doubt you match up to anything more. What you have the ability to accomplish is nothing compared to these guys. Each member is insanely talented, although the overall effect might not be perfect. The fact that they may not tickle your ear the right way is quite irrelevant.

Latest album is pretty damn good. More variety in vocal tones and some very dirty drums and gits that blend well together. Content remains half a** though.

suicide silence arent "amazing". Their guitarists are horrid and the drumming is ok. although i must admit the new album was a big step from the all power cord songs they had in previous records. Good, yes, amazing, defiantly not.

Suicide Silence is epic. These guys are the pinnacle of Deathcore in my humble opinion. There presents on this site will most defiantly be reinforced once No Time To Bleed is added. So get to it!

This is a band I cannot get into, and I don't know why. It's just boring. Everything they do, someone else does it much better.

I prefer NTTB. They used the same chord progression for all of the cleansing. You can only use 1 2 3 so many times before it gets boring. Just my opinion. NTTB is pretty sick.
