Tammi Terrell
Selected Discography
I'm seeing a "trend" that the songs aren't original. Just takes a few notes to hear a significant difference. Close but no cigar.

Terrell died at age 24 in Philadelphia , on March 16, 1970. Her burial at Mount Lawn Cemetery in Sharon Hill, Pennsylvania , near Philadelphia Int. Airport, drew thousands of mourners, and many of her Motown colleagues were in attendance. In his biography, Divided Soul, Gaye wrote, "Tammi was the victim of the violent side of love--at least that's how it felt. I have no ... knowledge of what really killed her, but it was a deep vibe, as though she was dying for everyone who couldn't find love."

Tammi Terrell Biography
Singer Tammi Terrell joined forces with the immortal Marvin Gaye to create some of the greatest love songs ever to emerge from the Motown hit factory; sadly, their series of classic duets -- "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing," and "You're All I Need to Get By" among them -- came to an abrupt and tragic halt with her premature death. Terrell was born Thomasina Montgomery in Philadelphia on April 29, 1945. |

There were so many wonderful female singers of the sixties, and they all had different voices. There is no point in comparing.

Comparing Diana Ross to Tammi Terrell is like comparing apples to oranges. Why do we do this with female artists? In the 80s they started a stars wars with Mariah Carey versus Whitney Houston and most recently with Beyonce and Jennifer Hudson. Yet we don't dare encourage such destructive comparisons with our male artists. Let's stop already! There's room enough for everybody!

After reading some of the Tammi vs Diana comments it's always interesting that in order to justify one individual's artitic talent we have to down grade another. We should probably stop comparing artist and appreciate them as individuals
