Biography
Like many underground rappers in the Midwest, Tech N9ne specialized in bizarre hardcore rap and stood as one of the few recognized rappers based in Kansas City when he debuted in the late '90s. He made the major-label jump with Anghellic (2001), which Jcor Entertainment released with the backing of Interscope Records. The album didn't find a large audience, though, and Tech N9ne returned to the underground and prepared his next album, Absolute Power (2002). A year later Tech N9ne's new label, Strange Music, re-released Anghellic, which had gone out of print in the wake of Jcor's fallout with Interscope. ~ Jason Birchmeier, All Music Guide

saw him at rock the bells in chicago and he absolutely killed it... one of the highest energy sets... hey may be a goofy s.o.b, but hes got the stage presence, got the crowd into it, and now has my respect...

You need to listen to more Tech then. He does have a lot of goofy stuff but he is lyrically up there with some of the best rappers out right now. He also comes out with soungs that actually talk about life events and issues he deals with rather than dance lolipop stuff that the radio loves.

I've only heard two songs from him; "Riot Starter" I think it's called and "I'm A Playa". The "Riot Starter" one was pretty damn dope, but "I'm A Playa" is...garbage .
