Telepopmusik
Biography
The electronic outfit Télépopmusik followed in the footsteps of Air, Les Rythmes Digitales, and Dimitri From Paris and established their own musical stylings in the arena of French dance music. The core trio of Fabrice Dumont, Stephan Haeri, and Christophe Hetier formed in 1997 after burning out from playing with other bands. Dumont founded the dream pop group Autour de Lucie, whereas Hetier used to be the popular DJ Anti-Pop and Haetri played with Planet Zen. As Télépopmusik, the group contributed their newly fresh electronic sound on "Sonic 75" to a SourceLab compilation in the same year. Their acid house electronic jive was far more impressive on Genetic World, which appeared on Capitol in April 2002. Debut single "Breathe" was popular among the club circuit for several months, but by early 2003 the song became a mainstream smash thanks to its inclusion in television ads for the Mitsubishi Outlander SUV. In February, the group embarked on their first ever American tour. Angel Milk appeared two years later. ~ MacKenzie Wilson

One of the Foreign Exchange albums (Leave it all Behind) has a Hillary Duff cover. Random! It's a big deal because if anyone walks into the room while listening to them, they'll think I'm a big Hillary Duff fan rather than a sophisticate d underground rap enthusiast. Although I do love me some "Come Clean" every now and then. LET THE RAIN FALL DOWN..!!

No mention of Angela McCluskey? She takes many of the songs from good to fantastic... Great group overall.

@Lisa Bella
Why wouldn't it be a big deal. If this corrupt society runs on advertising doesn't this band deserve the same amount of rights as any other. Why shouldn't it be fixed. Wonder what it would really take to fix some jpeg on some simple html page.... |
genetic world is not Franz Ferdinand... . someone should change the picture to the real album cover.....
I really love the singer's voice, it makes me very happeh inside. ^^

I found this band on a Pier One compilation cd of French music given to me. I had on Massive Attack radio and heard breathe come on - I flipped out! The compilation cd had no band names or anything so I was super excited to hear these guys!! Much love for Telepopmusik .
Good music, but the female lead is one singer I refuse to listen to. Her voice (or whatever it is) just kills the music. I thumb down their stuff lol.
Agreed. Their sound is like no other. Not only gives me the chills, but chills me out.
They give me chills.
I could do anything while listening to one of their tracks. I prefer Angel Milk over Genetic World. |

Please keep your comments on topic...
I have fell in love with this style of music and it all started with Breathe. After that I searched for more songs by this group and found other groups with similar sounds through Pandora. |
Just starting to listen to this artist, sounds great! A few others you all might like are Portishead, Ellen Allien & Apparat, Bluetech, Momma Gravy, and even Fila Brazillia.
I also agree with bromide01 towards Natalia. Nobody here is interested in your drug abuse. |
Hey, that's great. I'm so glad you love psychedelic fungus. Way to promote drugs on Pandora. I hope some 10 year old doesn't read that and then goes out into his back yard and eats some mushrooms from his backyard and then dies. I guess your "amazing experience" wouldn't be so amazing after all. Huh?
Had the most amazing experience on mushrooms while listening to "Genetic World" on a dewy Sunday morning last summer...*le sigh* Twas' sublime indeed. "Trishika" is a creepy but amazing track! In short, I will always associate amazing feelings with this amazing group.

very interesting as well as relaxing. Subtle and full of many odd blends that work wel together, which few these days don't take the time to work things out, and just throw things together and just see what happens. Even better with repeted listening.
I love that the woman who sounds like Billy Holiday is actually irish! So cool.

Angela McCluskey makes this great album awsome. I love her and hope Pandora snags her latest cd for their queue.
