Shawshank,Pe r d i t i o n , J o e Black, Horse Whisperer, American Beauty, Angels in America and Green Mile ALL GREAT!
How's about the Shawshank Redemption soundtrack. Get busy livin', or get busy dyin'.
The Soundtrack to "Meet Joe Black", "Road to Perdition" and "Revolutiona r y Road" would be awesome!
I hope they release the Horse Whisperer soundtrack.. . it's my favorite soundtrack by him.
I walked down the aisle to Newman's composition "That Next Place" for Meet Joe Black. It was incredibly moving... heavenly!
I know now that its not, but this sounds a lot like the music from House MD. So every time I hear Newman's work, I think of hospitals now. I did not, however, know he did work for Wall-E. Great music.
My favorite Thomas Newman pieces are Road to Perdition, Horse Whisperer, and Meet Joe Black, though I do like a few pieces from Angels in America and Little Women.

This song evokes such a sense of calm, inner silence, and serenity. Yes, Jeremiah, truly inspirationa l stuff. I can imagine reading "Bridges Over Madison County" as I relate to Francis Johnson so ...
If you liked American Beauty, you should see The Shawshank Redemption (Stephen King) He also did the score for it...truely inspirationa l stuff

OMG I love "Any Other Name". Reminds me of "American Beauty" which is by far the greatest movie ever made. Thank you Thomas Newman For writing such soul speaking music as this track. This is a song I will never forget. Pandora.com, you need to find an article about this artist today. Everyone needs to hear this song, and if they haven't already, see the movie. I have rarely heard a song that brings me so close to tears every time I hear it. The end of "American Beaty" still makes me mis

Thomas Newman's "Meet Joe Black" was fantastic. I also liked his work on "Phenomenon, " although its been left almost entirely off of the soundtrack CD.
First time listener to this artist, what a soft treatment for the soul.
I really like this artist, not soggy, not too sweet but just right. I can read, dream, write and think with a little help from him. Wonderful
I love him to death, but I'd rather not get new age as "like" him, because...no t at all.
His soundtracks from Shawshank Redemption, American Beauty and Green Mile are stellar. NOT NEW AGE. |
Thomas Newman is by far my favorite film composer. I listen to his stuff all the time when I'm writing. They say there's a "Mozart effect." I think there's a "Newman effect," as well.
Has anyone listened to or been able to find his earlier work from the soundtrack "Less Than Zero"? I would pay a king's ransom for some of the most soul searching music I have ever heard. Unfortunatel y that music has never been released to the public, & I have searched for it for several years, to no avail.
Thomas Newman somehow has his talent swirling around inside the very pulse of the human heart. If I had to say what love, life, irony and tragedy sounded like - it would sound like the entire score of American Beauty. I wait patiently to afford all of Thomas Newman's music in my library. To me - his creations are the 'soul ascending!'
