Trans-Siberian Orchestra
Biography
Based in New York City, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra united a 60-piece orchestra plus chorus with the talents of Paul O'Neill, a veteran hard rock producer. The group released its debut album, Christmas Eve and Other Stories, just in time for the 1996 holiday season. The Christmas Attic followed in 1998, and two years later the group issued its first non-seasonal recording, Beethoven's Last Night. In 2004, the band returned with the new album Lost Christmas Eve and collected all their Christmas recordings on the three-CD/one-DVD collection Christmas Trilogy. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide

This group is great! They put a new spin on the traditional carols we hear. I never knew 'O Holy Night' could be played on an electric guitar until I started listening... n o w I'm hooked. The season hasn't officially started without hearing some TSO!!!

I just got a free ticket for this weekend's show in Minneapolis! Life is good!

One of my "Stations".. . a l o n g with Steamroller. . . a touch of, well, something different. Love it...

I cannot wait to go to the show in December in Chicago!!!!! ! ! ! ! weeeeeeeeeee e e e e e e e !
The best live show I have ever seen. There are no words to explain the experience you get from seeing and hearing their music performed live.

Trans-Siberi a n Orchestra is my 8 year olds favorite group. She has loved them since she was an infant and we used the song "Christmas Eve in Sarajevo" to calm her when she cried. It is still her most favorite song and she asks to hear it year round when we are driving in the car. We went to see them in concert last Christmas. Didn't know how much more amazing the music could be in person until we ex

I'm a am not a Christmans person at all since I don't believe in all of that anyway, I go to see them every year they come to town. They sell out the arena every single year. They are amazing muscicians

There aren't enough accolades for this amazingly talented group. They beefed-up (if that's even possible) here in Tucson three years ago...AND BROUGHT THE FREAKING HOUSE DOWN. Fans were so juiced after the concert there were four - count 'em - auto accidents in the TCC parking lot (those are just the ones I KNOW about). I've never seen a light show like that in my LIFE. Their Christmas videos on YouTube are astounding.
I found one of their songs a while ago and I was immediately hooked. The music they produce is phenomenal! After two songs I HAD to see them in person. And I did! And THEY ROCKED THE HOUSE! I am most certainly going back the next time I get the chance.
I went to their concert the day after New Years and it was AMAZING!!!!! ! They have something that no other "hard rock classical" people have. They put on an awesome show (light show was phenomenal), the best I have ever seen. I am definitely going to watch them next year. These people are geniuses of music. I have fallen in love with their music!
It just amazes me how anyone can come up with stuff like this- it's amazing! I have the songbook for their first album. The songs in it sound awesome- especially Christmas Eve Sarajevo :)
interesting. . . normally "hard rock classical" or whatever you want to call the crossover is pretty lame. This isn't.

Fell in love with first song on first album and "had to have it" even before I knew who they were. Then, knowing how very much I adore them, I was given tickets to the sold out Christmas show in New Orleans this year, dead center, front row. The day was perfect. I got married, saw Trans Siberian Orchestra and then spent the night on Bourbon Street. I will be there every year from now on for their shows. Rock Opera how very intense, moving and enchanting. Absolutely heart-thumpi n g . Truly Orgasmic.

i love their albums. if you listen all the way through, its a story. their new christmas album, the lost christmas (or something) is awesome!!
I love going to their concerts I started going every year and the lighting effects are amazing!!! The music is wonderful and it just puts me in the christmasy mood.
My husband and I saw them November 22nd and they were terrific! We saw them two years ago and we're hooked. For a bunch of "rockers" they can present a Christmas show with feeling and grace (not to mention energy!!!) that reaches across all ages. I hope they continue performing for a long time.
I've seen them twice live so far - they do not disappoint. I have no idea how they can set up, perform and tear down and travel - that many shows in a row.
We're seeing them on 12/22 in Knoxville. Yay!!! |
Wife and I just went to the Washington DC show yesterday. WOW! They don't disappoint, and are one of the few acts that could charge me ALMOST any price for their show! Requiem (The Fifth) was INTENSE!!!!
Taking my wife and daughters and going on 12/19/08 as my early B-day present. I can't wait for my girls to see the light show that is almost as well known as their music.
TSO has had the rare ability to reach across generation gaps and draw Gen-X and Baby Boomers into the hard rock/instrum e n t a l metal genre. What an impressive feat! A supremely skilled group
My wife and I with a bunch of friends are going tonight. It should be quite fun...
Love TSO. I am going to my 4th concert, in as many years, tonigh t . Christmas in Sarejevo is my Favorite. I just made a station based around them and am surprised at how many other bands are similar! Listen on!
My sister, and her best friend and I just saw them in concert last night in Greensboro N.C. AWESOME!!! We saw them last year also. We have decided to make this a tradition every year to celebrate my sister's birthday!! Loved the show!!!!! Can't say enough about TSO!!!!
This band is incredible. When you hear them you have to wonder if this is what Beethoven would have written had he been around in this century. I've seen their show twice and they rock. "Hall of the Mountain King" was a great addition this year. Savatage still Lives!!!! Rock on. Also, their soprano has an amazing set of pipes.
What can you say about this group of artists. "Awesome" I have seen them 2 times and look forward seeing them again in a month. They are one of the nice treats of music still around. My 17yr. old daughter loves them just like dad. Keep cranking the music....
PS: Al Petrelli wrecked his knee and had to do the entire tour sitting down... A little sad, but Still a great show. Get better quick Al!
I just got to sit second row and watch TSO last night! They are AMAZING! Especially that close up. I can't wait for Nightwish!
I would love to see TSO do a live show around Beethoven's Last Night. Have seen their Christmas show several times and it's getting a bit old.
Each year they go on tour the shows get better, and better. We have been to the last 3 in Austin, TX and we really enjoyed them all. We took my 16 year old and one of his friends last year and they were pleasantly surprised with the show.
i'm taking my daughter to see trans on nov. 5th in wilkes barre, pa..It will b e the first for both of us i'm 55 and she's 38.
Their tours are usually kinda cool. Tends to be the same Christmas album every time, but the later half of the concert tends to be them mixing it up, playing other stuff. They're great live.
