Biography
R&B singer Tyrese Gibson -- referred to as Tyrese -- began his career at the age of 14, performing in local talent shows around his home in Los Angeles' Watts section; his big break came when he starred in a commercial for Coca-Cola, shortly followed in 1998 by his self-titled debut album for RCA. He followed three years later with 2000 Watts. I Wanna Go There appeared a year later, but it wasn't until late 2006 that he released his fourth album, Alter Ego. Also an actor, he has appeared in Baby Boy, 2 Fast 2 Furious, and Four Brothers. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide

Wow riksluv, you and tayon smith are opening my eyes to a side of Tyrese I haven't seen. If its true that is too bad, so many talented folks seem to let arrogance cloud their judgement. He has always came off as a really humble guy and I have always found him very personable.I can only hope that you guys just caught the man at a bad time, maybe something was going on that you didn't know. However if he is a cheeseball thats full of himself, his image could take a hit and that ruins carreers.

I love Tyrese that body and voice is so chocolatey sexy; my son saw him here in Dallas, TX so one of the other poster here **TAYON SMITH; was right; my son said Tyrese was very arrogant and sarcastic and basically really didnt want to do the meet and greet and Buster Rhymes was just as bad...but Ty is a very talented singer one thing he should consider ****WITHOUT THE PEOPLE...... . . . Hands down one of my favorite soul singers. His acting is really coming along as well, He is actually an actor that when I see that he is in a movie I will go see it b/c besides the mediocrity of Baby Boy he has done some great work like 'Four Brothers' and that movie he did with john Liguizamo where tyrese played an evil psycho. I have been really impressed how he can make music that is really good and also maintain the skills to be an awesome actor, truly talented guy.

Most ppl shouldn't try to balance two great carreers like this guy b/c if your a great singer you usually look totally unbeleivable as an actor or actress and if your a great actor or actress your singing might be broadway ready but to be a solo artist is a bit of a reach, its not as easy as Tyrese makes it look. This guy is going to be a star 20 yrs from now,I guarentee it.

I met Tyrese in person and he seems to be a little arrogant, but that doesnt affect the whether or not I listen or buy his music. Tyrese is a very talented writer/singe r . As far as his acting I always thought it could use some help until WAIST DEEP. He played a very sincere role in that movie. I still like him as a person and love his type of music.

Unlike many of the singers/rapp e r s 2day; Tyrese is an artist. He can actually sing without music, back-up singers, etc........T h e Coca-Cola commercial shows the talent. Whether he's gay, ugly or cute; what does that have to do with whether he's talented or not?

His voice is very common. It doesn't seem to have any real strength. It seems to me that most of you are praising him so much just because you think he's hot. Which again, I also disagree with. He is entirely too muscle-y. It's rather gross. I prefer a man that I can actually curl up with (my husband is cute and cuddly--yay! haha). It looks like it would hurt just to rest your head on him. I haven't seen his other movies, but the F&F movies are awful.
