Biography
A product of the New York City goth scene, Voltaire first earned attention as a director and stop-motion animator, helming station IDs for MTV, the Sci-Fi Channel and other cable outlets. He also produced a number of comic book projects, among them Chi-Chian and Oh My Goth. Voltaire's debut LP, The Devil's Bris, appeared on the Projekt label in mid-1998. It mixed lush vocals over the chaos of violins and cellos. The pop-influenced Almost Human appeared in summer 2000; while Boo Hoo continued Voltaire's glossy pop experimentation two years later. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide

*fangirlish scream* Voltaire's awesome. I go through enough therapy as it is, so I sadly hide this, my true self (for lack of a better way to put it), but my mum likes most of his music... "Cantina" wasn't so funny once I actually listened to more than a quarter of every sentence...

Voltaire is awesome. I have seen him live too many times and even had a few rounds of drinks with him once. I also drove from Denver to Kansas City just to see him in 2007. They need to add his Banned On Vulcan album to Pandora, they are some of the funniest songs I have ever heard.

When you're evil is my favourite so far. Voltaire is witty, humorous, macabre...an d his voice is beautiful. Very original and artistic.

I love the artistry of Voltaire as I have all of his Albums I actually did met him face to face and, it was really cool. I hope that happens again and, I mean soon too!

When I first heard "The Vampire Club" at my local Goth night, I nearly peed my shorts laughing while dancing to it... "When You're Evil", "I Wanna Be a Goth"... gods, the list goes on... Pandora rox for playing this guy's stuff. I'd love to meet him in person, if the reviews below are any indication. :)

while i miss voltaire's early songs like 'ex-lover's lovers' and the whole 'devil's bris' singable, dancable mayhem, i really apprecaite where he's gone these days. |

He is a nice guy, I got to meet him last nite and saw him perform for the first time.

He's a real hoot to see in person, too. I saw him last year; couldn't make the concert but saw him at a free concert at my favorite Goth store in Portland OR. He's really funny! Er, make that entertaining ! PS I'd like to see him act!

Silly and intelligent music with a GORGEOUS voice. Rather macabre obviously, but magnificent nonetheless. Besides, macabre is never really a bad thing when used well. I HIGHLY reccomend this artist and cannot wait to see what work he produces in the future.
