Westlife
Biography
In the tradition of British and Irish boy bands like Take That and Boyzone comes Dublin's Westlife, a quintet consisting of Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne, Bryan McFadden, Mark Feehily, and Kian Egan. Filan, Egan, and Feehily were among the group's six founding members, but the other half of the group was dispatched when Louis Walsh, Boyzone's manager, took interest in them. This made room in the band for Byrne and McFadden; Walsh also introduced Westlife to Boyzone vocalist and solo artist Ronan Keating, who became the group's co-manager shortly after they cemented their recording contract. The group's first single, 1999's "Flying Without Wings," entered the U.K. charts at number one, a feat they replicated with "Seasons in the Sun" and "Swear It Again" in 2000. Their self-titled debut album met with similar chart-topping success and quickly went platinum in their homeland. Westlife was released in the U.S. by Arista Records in early 2000. The group's popularity in Europe continued through the 2000s, with the release of albums such as Turnaround, Allow Us to Be Frank, and Face to Face; the greatest-hits collection Unbreakable, Vol. 1 was also released on DVD. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide

Love listening to these guys never heard of them but sure would love to live in the UK so that I would have heard of them sooner.

My first time hearing this group, but I'm hooked! This is why I love using Pandora--I'm constantly introduced to new artists that I love!

This is the first time I have heard this group. Enjoy listening to them.

I have only recently heard their music. I love their style. I am glad a friend shared them with me.
They are my favorite group. I've been a fan since the IOU days. So, I'm looking to make the station with JUST them, but I keep getting other artists added as well. sigh!

Okay, what the hell?? I'm listening to Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Duke Ellington, Basie, etc. These guys have popped up 6 TIMES today. Every time, I hit thumbs down but they keep coming back, like a really irritating pop-up ad (which I'm starting to think this is). Does that happen to anyone else with these guys? I mean, to each their own, and I'm glad all you guys love Westlife but I really do not. Just wondering what gives - it only happens w/them.

Nice cover of Ain't That A kick In The Head - I would never have pegged them as a boy band.

This group is extremely talented and harmonizes perfectly. However, they are just too 'silky' for me. They remind me of a Justin Timberlake x 5 with their note bending phrasing pushing the envelope of emotion into their singing. Sorry, but I don't see where they are on the same plain as Boyzone.

Never heard of them, but I like how they sound more mature than other "boy bands" It's almost adult contemporary .
But me likey |

the westlife is the king of the world because they have the amazing voices.

We met the Boys in Sligo Ireland a few years ago as they were getting started. We were in a Pub where they hang out and sing for the home town folks. Great group of Kids.

After listening to Westlife which is the name of thier first album. I would like to conclude by saying it was so boring and they kind of sound like BSB, but BSB is waaaaaaayyy BETTER!
ive never heard of these people but they vagly (dont care if i spelled it correctly) remind me of aaron carter but they are good unlike aaron carter so kudos to these guys ;)
No wonder they sound so great! Not only are they very Irish (I'm not Irish, but apparently my ears are), but they're intimately connected to Boyzone people. Next to Boyzone, this group is great!
THE BEST BAND EVER!!!! SHANE, MARK, NICKY, KIAN...AND STILL BRIAN...LOVE THEM FOREVER!!!
Fantastic music and great love songs. Tramendous lead voice. It's a shame they were never as popular in the USA. I have all their albums and pop rock and easy listening on each album. I especially like their Allow us to be Frank which highlights Frank Sinatra's biggest hits.
