Winds Of Plague
Biography
Originally known as Black December, Winds of Plague formed in 2002 in Upland, California. The band went through a good deal of roster changes, eventually settling on Jonathan Cooke (vocals), Nick Eash (guitar), Nick Piunno (guitar), Kristen Randall (keyboards), Andrew Glover (bass), and Jeff Tenney (drums). The name change to Winds of Plague took about three years, and in 2005 the newly christened band released their debut, A Cold Day In Hell on Recourse Records. Century Media stepped in and singed the band, with whom Winds of Plague would release their follow up with -- Decimate the Weak -- in February of 2008. ~ Chris True, All Music Guide

I fuxing hate genre's and labeling bands. Why can't it all be "Metal". End of story, you know?
I gotta agree with sugarbear. Bands like Deicide and Morbid angel are true death metal. No breakdowns,j u s t blast beats.
to hazrdsk8er93 : The Faceless and All Shall Perish aren't death metal either. it's all deathcore.
lol i cant believe ppl think this is ligitimate death metal... from what iv listioned too winds of plague is just a bunch of boring and repeditive guitar riffs with mediorce druming and ok vocals. When i listioned to them nothing made me go "OMG these guys are awesome" its definantly no where near on the scale of true deathmetal like The Faceless or All Shall Perish and if anybody disagrees with me than please, tell me, whats so "amazing" about these guys?
i like the sound of this band. i wouldnt call them a core band though they actually have talent. listen to the lead!!!
Bradscearce WoP and other hardcore bands don't even sound like Pantera, nor are they trying to be.
if you thing this band is bad then u like to take in up the a$$ for several hours a day u f**got
All the new metal bands like this one just sound like they want to be Pantera. I agree with Tim Woodworth, weak.

"OMG, this is.......TRU E METAL! I'm going to delete all my other stations now." What are you doing today to promote TRUE metal? |
I really think this band is all around weak, they are pretty well over rated.
whoever wrote the review didnt do good research or didnt spell check before saving. they were BLEAK december not BLACK.
why does there have to be all these labels for metal bands these days?
i think this band is deathgrindme t a l b l a c k c o r e ! wtf! there are only 2 kinds music good and s**tty |
Whoa, whoa, whoa. I now take back that statement. I had to listen to more of their stuff.
i dig their sound, i just wish johhny plague wasnt such a wigger. check out the video for their song, The Imapler, he looks like a wanna-be piece of gangster s**t....its kinda funny
they are taleneted but they just remind me of punk a** posers.and as for them stealing the show at slaughter there talent is nothing compared to necrophagist .
They stole the show at Summer slaughter. Johnny Plague has unbelievable stage presence and Kristen Randall (their smoking hot keyboard player) broke off and did some kick a** vocals (in a leather corset).
to call these guys emo is retarded. Their definitely the heaviest band that plays in E standard. The keyboard player is very talented considering he plays classical style if you pay attention. Johnny Plague has a vocal rande and word clarity that alot of screamers dont have. Their guitarists are really good. The Great Stone Warrior comes out in a little less than a month. Its gonna be amazing. Decimate the Weak is pretty good for a first release, huh?
They are a really good band but if you have a good system in your car, it sounds like doo doo through the subs. Put in The Faceless or As Blood Runs Black! Oh yeah, some Whitechapel too! They have some small sine sweeps or bass drops.
I can't wait until Summer Slaughter Tour. Them and Born of Osiris. YESSS! ahaha
Totally original and Brutal at the same time. Decimate The Weak is a great f**king album. The title track and "Reloaded" are deffinate standouts. I can't wait to see what they do next.
Winds of plague is the s**t i got to c em with dimmu they put on a good show
i love em i cant wait for the next album to come |

Emo bands usually have mixed screaming (if at all) with a pansy-arse singer and very predictable chord progression. These folks are genuine and original. I'm usually against heavy use of keyboards, but at the middle of Anthems of the Apocalypse I've fallen in love with the keyboard/dru m duet. Effing BRUTAL!!!
haha thats the dumbest thing i heard all year, f*g calling this a emo band. hehe this dude dont know death metal screw off ya wanker!
WHAT?! You think this guys are emo?! You do not know what music is, you think that. Damn, people these days.
