Biography
Witch utilize classic rock structures and murky -- but heavy -- atmospherics to achieve the kind of doom metal fanfare that plays to both fans of Black Sabbath and Mastodon. Longtime friends J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr. and Dave Sweetapple had always wanted a "real" hard rock band, so they asked Asa Irons and Kyle Thomas, both members of New England avant folk collective Feathers, to join in on the racket. The resulting eponymous debut dropped in March of 2006 on Tee Pee Records. ~ James Christopher Monger, All Music Guide

I like it don't care what anybody else has to say about Doom!!! Electric Wizard are true magicians though in the musical sense with their dark atmoshperes! ! ! ! !

Saw them play a show in Williamsburg Brooklyn with Earthless and these dudes kick total rear end no doubt about it. It was such a great show that I got mad when Dino Jr booked a tour

meh. the whole throwback sabbathy inspired stuff is getting boring, especially if you arent bringing anything different to the table. I feel Witch is totally middle of the road as far as this sort of sound goes.

standout song on ist cd-isodore-s t a n d o u t song on 2nd is sweet sue-1st cd is bewitching,s e c o n d cd is garagey rawk-a bit dark but not bm or even metal,idiots at record stores put it in metal section because of two reasons-they think the name means bm or dm and they are idiots,zappe d out on shrooms looking thru me when i ask a question.
