Yoko Kanno
Selected Discography
I'd say "What Planet Is This?" is one of the greatest musical compositions ever put together by a human brain. A truly brilliant woman.

You can't just like this artist, you love plain and simple.
Love her work! The majority of my Japanese songs that I have are form her. The ghost in the shell soundtracks are her best work.
She is one of Japan's greatest composers. You would hope Pandora could cover more of her works.
Pandora - PLEASE update her discography! I'm tired of waiting for the rest of her albums!
my favorite soundtrack that i hav heard so far is the stand alone complex and my fav song on it is i do.
I'd love it if the Brain Powered, Escaflowne, and Macross Plus CD's were included here. She has done so much more and there all wonderful and different in there own way.
Hello? Pandora - where is Macross Plus soundtrack?
One of her absolute best works - completely missing yish |
Not sure why everyone is so crazy about her stuff from the Seatbelts... it was a good exercise in demonstratin g her range, but strays pretty far from pretty much everything else she's ever done. Would love to see a lot more of her work on here; Arjuna OSTs are especially great.
Omg this site is amazing i never would have thought they would've had all the awesome jap stuff too.
I was hoping they would have had Kanno's "Escaflowne" movie and series soundtracks on here as well. She has done so much in the industry. I only wish she would visit the States.
Yoko Kanno rules i loved her contrabution to wolfs rain the the best i am also fond of her contrabution to ghost in the shell
Yoko Kanno ROCKS. Stand Alone Complex was an awesome soundtrack.
One thing I can admire her for, among all of her other musical triumphs, is that Kanno actually puts her all into composing the music for a series, even when it's a complete pile of crap like Wolf's Rain.
I would love to see her work from the soundtrack for the
Arjuna series. Very excellent stuff that taps into her tribal abilities as well as a wide variety of other styles. Yoko Kanno and Danny Elfman are my favorite modern composers. -namaste (I honor the Divine within you) |

I belive yoko is a great artist and well i loved wolf rain it was fantastic well if you are like me and are absessive over wolfs.
I loved Yoko Kanno ever since I watched Ghost in the Shell:Stand Alone Complex.I would like to hear more music by this artist.
Every series that Yoko Kanno is attached to is worth watching. Even RahXephon, where she only did the theme song.
I'm shocked and appalled that they don't have her Macross Plus on here.... |
I may not like some of the shows Kanno's work appears in, but her music is just wonderful! Music with Cowboy Bebop/The Seatbelts is especially pretty.
Where's her stuff with The Seatbelts? And hell, half of her work is missing anyway...
