Yoko Kanno
Selected Discography
One of Kanno's greatest qualities is her amazing range of styles... very little of this is actually available on Pandora, unfortunatel y . As others have said, the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack is some of her best work. I wish she'd do a little more jazz for us... :D

You need a lot more from this artist. Theres so much more from this artists. Theres like 5 or more Cowboy Bebop albums.
You seriously need some Cowboy BEbop tracks on here! I believe YK is one of the best composers of our time... :)
She is incredible and not only that the artists similar to her are incredible as well, Yoko just opened a whole new world of Music to me, Thank You.
if this starts reminding me of buddha bar-its outta heeeeerrrrre e e e !
listening to her music makes me jealous of the musicans she picks out for her pieces. The SACs scores are what got me hooked and Inner Universe is the top of my list for her songs! <3
Ever since I got the soundtrack for Wolf's Rain, I looked her up and found more of her songs. They are really nice to listen to now and then.
.......i'm down with anything approved by boff jennifer and goth-ann.... . . . . . a n d the anime' helps too.......
I love Yoko. All her scoring is fantastic.
The first "rock" from Japan i have ever liked. Im a big fan of tradional Japanese music, but have disliked all the modern music, except maybe the end battle music from Final Fantasy 10
bishopcruz is right. macross plus music is awesome and needs to be up here.
Yoko Kanno is undeniably musical wunderkind. Thank Google there's at least one site on the internet that lists her!
Hey yourablob... Yoko's a she. And she rocks. ;>
Awesome composer, and linguist to boot. |
I think for Cowboy Bebop stuff you gotta look up the band that actually performed the music: The Seatbelts
It is so nice to see that I am not the only rabid fan of the music from Cowboy Bebop! How about some Japaneese pop music, The Gospeleers or Noriyuki Makihara? There is lots of great stuff out there!
These are great albums but I would also love to see Escaflowne and Cowboy Bebop in here.
I love this artist, though I wish Pandora had the Cowboy Bebop music because that is some of my favorite work of his. But that's ok because I own the entire Cowboy Bebop soundtrack! :)
Most of the tracks aren't sung by Yoko Kanno. A few of the recurrent vocal artists are Origa (notably Rise and Inner Universe), Steve Conte (Living Inside the Shell, Call Me Call Me, etc.), and Ilaria Graziano (Velveteen, I Can't Be Cool, etc.).
Really I didn't realize that she was Gabriella Robin, she's awesome in which case. I just realized that Pandora needs the Macross Plus soundtrack, it was one of her best.
Yoko Kanno actually does sing in these albums, but she uses the pseudonym Gabriela Robin.
