I've known this song for as long as I have been on this earth, and only now have I just discovered the lyrics. The Beatles sure had a way with words. That is, when they didn't let Ringo write the songs. Hehe. Yellow Submarine = Fail.

You know, Jude sort of droned on and on at the end there... could have shortened some of the nah nah nahs a bit, but otherwise it holds up OK!

Tanner - yes, the original title was Hey Jules, but John asked Paul to change it. John thought the song was about him, but Paul has stated in interviews it was written to Julian about his parent's divorce and Yoko coming into Julian's life.
