The cascading melody of the piano takes you to heavens in a monumental instant. The organ piece is intricate and beautiful in the single while the guitar lead in the album song is intricate powerful and grandiose-a great work. This song makes you feel like you are pumpimg energy from the sky.

This song came out 13 years before I was born but I remember being a little girl and my dad pulling out this record and playing it over and over. Now I can't help but smile whenever I hear this song.

One of the greatest songs of all time. Even though I'm Jewish, and therefore slightly uncomfortabl e with some of the Christian subtexts, this is one of my favorite songs.
On a different note, anyone else notice that one of the attributes of this song, as listed below the lyrics, is "great lyrics?" Isn't that kind of an opinion? Heh. Just thought it was funny. |

I've always loved this song. One of my friends was Catholic and I thought that Mother Mary referred to Jesus' mom. I'd get upset about things and imagine her statue with her arms outstretched saying, "Let it be, KC." It calmed me down and I'd not be scared or upset any more. Now that I am an adult with children of my own, when life gets crazy, Mother Mary still comes to me saying, "Let it be." Ultimate words of wisdom!
