I like both Bowie's and Nirvana's version of the song, but overall I prefer the original. I just wish that Bowie's got as much radio play as Nirvana's... I hardly ever hear it and it's a shame.

@teach_43: I didn't know there was a cover of the song until I saw this page. I don't believe in liking a particular song because of who did it- I think it's musically limiting. I like Bowie's version because I think it's the better version, not because Bowie's the one who did it.

I wonder how many of you that claim you like the Nirvana cover actually heard the original Bowie first. I think its a matter of which artist you are a bigger fan of, not who sings the song that matters.

I think this is one of the few cases where I like both the original and the prominent cover equally--Bow i e ' s for the harmony at the end of his version, and Nirvana's for the stripped-dow n simplicity.

I'll believe it when I hear it. It's hard to beat a Bowie original; even if he doesn't have the best voice, he has a certain charisma that not many artists possess.
