Props to "Tears For Fears" for writing the original song. I hope I am not alone for even knowing that. Gary Jules took a well-written song and made it stunningly and errily beautiful. Heard Gary's version first from the movie "Donnie Darko".

This song was used as the perfect background for a video put together based on the book 'If the world were a village of 100 people'. This should be shown in every school in every country. One of those lump in the throat videos... but this song in the background gives it that extra punch in the gut.. Check it out!!

Ya, this song pretty much creeps me out. I knew it was from a weird movie, but couldn't remember what. I didn't mind Donnie Darko, but this song just makes it a sad/depressi n g movie to me. Now that it is mentioned, I remember the Gears of War commercial as well, once again, creepy, lol. I guess my point is, the feeling that this song invokes inside of me is not a pleasant one, haha.

Really, this is one of those rare covers that brings out beauty that was buried in the original version, lost under dated production and unnecessary flare. (Another song like this is M. Ward's cover of Bowie's "Let's Dance.") And frankly, this song MADE Donnie Darko. |

First heard this song during a commercial for Gears of War. It was a perfect fit. I like this version much better than the original Tears for Fears version. The tone seems much more appropriate.

I first looked for this song a few years ago when it was on a video game comercial for Gears of War. If you haven't seen it go to youtube and look it up. I see it as the strugle, and wars we all fight

I agree with Nathaniel. This may be one of the best songs ever written and Gary Jules' version is heartbreakin g . Donnie Darko was an interesting movie, but the ending set to this song is what made it remarkable.

Yea… so… like what else is there to say? Amazing Best-Songs of all-time. Download the entire Donnie Darko Soundtrack… the theme music on there is so good. I gotta check out the rest of Gary Jules work.
