This is the best damn song in the world. I never really thought about the meaning of the song. My mom always used to sing it to me, then she died and i thought about it and it finally hit me.

Shinedown's version is a horrible cover of this great song. He screams for no reason throughout the chorus to try and make the song emotional. Listen to this version and hear why you don't need to yell to portray emotion... Thank goodness people can't hear that version on pandora.
