This album was with me on many bus rides to school. It's strange not to listen to it in its entirety - I'd start playing the CD when I got on and it'd end just as we pulled in to school. Some days my batteries were so dead I'd need to get the CD spinning with my finger and close the lid. If we hit one bump, just one, the lights went out and it was back to the start. Skipping tracks was out of the question!

This is one of those songs that I play from my iHome when I can't get to sleep. Musical genius. This definitely needs Eclipse though.

they should put this song and Eclipse as one file so they get played consecutivel y . it just doesn't feel right to not hear them together, what with this being pure album rock and all.

I am amazed how Sid Barrett continued to inspire this group long after he left.Roger Waters Played "Shine On.." at Madison Square Garden last year, right after Sid's passing; they showed Sid's image behind the stage - I get the chills just thinking about it. I can't figure out why Gilmore would miss Sid-after all - if Sid didn't get sick Dave Gilmore may not have been in Pink Floyd...is it a front? Maybe...

One of the top 10 songs of all time. Used to love listening to this album through headphones when I was a teenager. (Good ear-surround i n g headphones, not those earbuds things we use today!)
