alright ya'll, people say that this song is such a sweet and moving song, but no one ever seems to notice that he's freaking stalking this girl! "Every Breath you Take, every move you make, I'll be watching you" How is that not creepy as hell?

LOL...Assumi n g you have two, she's pulling both of 'em. |

I've loved this song since it came out in '83 and I'm a Big Hair 80's junkie. There's something very simple and soothing about the song.

Aqbrice is spot on. I agree completely. Sting wrote it about his ex-wife. It's pretty cool though, because the song can have several meanings: a stalker song, a song about an Orwellian big brother type government, or just simply a song about a normal person who has some pretty heavy feelings towards his/her ex. It's not necessarily only a "stalker" song. Most people are just afraid to admit that they've had similar feelings about someone as expressed in the song.

it defenitely has creepy lyrics but my god the melodies are amazing...th e y pull you in and make you listen..but at the end of the day its a stalkers dream song!

||
Sting did write it about his ex-wife, Frances. The kicker is that he had already left her for his current wife, Trudie-but he just couldn't stand that Frances was out there with other guys! As creepy and unfair as this sounds, he's just speaking the truth about how people can obsess about their exes long after it's over.

my heart pulses with the bass strings in this police classic an u hear the finger prints slide on the cords? timeless sounds become part of your soul

Sting rocks, but my dad calls him Stink :(
i love this song, though it is a little stalkerish. |

Such a good song to listen to while driving on the highway late at night and moon is shining....N o reference to stalking though...Lol ! I was even lucky enough to see their reunion concert last summer...so awsome!

||
Haha I was totally thinking that too caleb.tlr
I mean i like the beat and all, but I was listening to the lyrics and I was like dang... that's creepy |

This song is OK, but overplayed I think; I would love to hear some different Police songs on my Pandora channel. Maybe something a little deeper from the catalog, like Bring on the Night, or Invisible Sun, etc. etc.

sorry to all who like this song, but this has got to be the ultimate creeper song

The ultimate love/stalker song! ^ I'm in total agreement to this statement. haha, But I still think it's a cute song. (: |
||
his words can be the words of a stalker or the words of a person smitten by love. I have read "the word people", and it is and will always be the bomb of a love song for me. right next to when a man loves a woman by percy sledge. it is oh so true.
|
||
I laugh at Sting's comment that he meant this song to be about a stalker and his unhealthy obbession for someone. He said it amuses him that people select it for their wedding song. Listen to ALL the words, people :)

I've heard this song a zillion time...love it still ! and I'm a geezer....if you asked me if I liked "the Police"... Um....I'd say..."DUH " me loving this song ! Suz |

I agree with Edwin; Though, the big difference between this song and "Lips of an Angel" is that this song is good. Real good. I could take a big steamy dump that sounds better than Hinder.
I once dated a girl who said that "Lips of an Angel" reminded her of her Ex. Needless to say, that relationship didn't last long. |
