What blows me away with this song is that it was a poem Anthony journaled. Someone close to him suggested that he make a song out of it, they described hearing this 'poem' for the first time as, "...you could feel the pain in Anthony's voice with the words of his view about living on the streets..." I agree, his voice is strong in writing and singing. Long live the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

I clearly remember listening to this song when i was around 4 years old and being moved by it but not understandin g what those feelings were or what the song was about but as the years went on, I grew to completely understand why this song was such a huge success. long live RHCP!
