Who the hell said this is written by REM? >.> This is one of my fav Smashing Pumpkins songs, one of the only one of their songs u can headbang to during the chorus :P. The beginning is epic "The world is a vampire..." no instruments or anything. But what I love the most and the reason I have to comment is because in the "similar song" it shows the 5 best songs of the best band in the world, Nirvana :D. It's like, godly. That RHCP song needs to be taken away lol. NIRVANA + SMASHING PUMPKINS = YES

This is an existentiali s t anthem if there ever was one: My inner ratbastard raves to the RAT IN A CAGE LINE and anyone whose ever been drop kicked by organized religion (like me) revels "I still believe that I cannot be saved" outro. Billy Corgan wrote some of the greatest anthems of the 90's and they are still as fresh and relevant today as the day they were penned.
