This is good....and the band, within temptation, is good....but it's not as good as their new band, Delain. If you like this band, you need to check out Delain.

I think the difference between this song and their other ones is there's more rock in it than their usual orchestral sound. Like Pandora's review of WT said, they usually "marry the guitar-drive force of rock with the sweep and grandeur of symphonic music." In this one, there's hardly any "sweep and grandeur of symphonic music." Not to say that the song is bad; it's alright.

This does have a lot of key aspects which are like Evanescence but it definitely still retains its own sound, and Evanescence is so much more unique than Linkin Park and though they have similar rock sounds they're not much alike at all. |

I agree, it is very much like Evanescence. I still like it though. I almost want to teach it to one of my guy pals so we can do it as a duet. Too bad none of the guys I know can sing!

I dunno.
This song reminds me too much of Evanescence and not enough of what I look for from Within Temptation. It's not that it isn't good... Just that I hope they don't go too far in this kind of direction. |
