Hailing from Middletown, NY, My Bitter End emerged from the remnants of an earlier band named ForOrdained, and recorded their first album, A Thin Line Between Heaven and Here, for release through Inner Strength Records, in 2004. The bandmembers weren't too happy with the somewhat muddled, indistinctive metalcore results, however, so after parting ways with the label, their singer, and one of two guitarist, My Bitter End's new lineup of Tyler Guida (vocals), Todd Ranne (guitar), AJ Tompkins (guitar), Shawn Jennings (bass), and Michael Ranne (drums) upped the creative ante in terms of both musicianship and compositional ambition for their 2006 follow-up, The Renovation. Released through Uprising Records, the sophomore disc indeed featured a far more complex array of metal and hardcore influences, and set them up for a national tour with Emmure and For the Fallen Dreams. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, Rovi
luky ur soul has nuts mine has a vagina.I thought i was manly till i heard this s**t and its crazy sick so that turned my soul into a f**kin girl cuz this s**t is so F**KIN crazy
I have seen these guys live numerous times and they put on a super tight live performance. The drummer is sick, the guitars are always damn near perfect and they have stage presence. Of the 2000 plus live shows I have seen these guys definitely stand the test of a music snob.
i think i would enjoy this album alot more if they did a better job of mixing their tones. thats just 1 thing that bugs me with this band. they have some well written stuff, but it sounds like crap on CD.
substantial.jesus
if you can't play it live, it shouldn't be on the recording. having to trigger EVERYTHING and punch EVERYTHING does not make you talented. it makes you have money for a good engineer.
that being said, the band is heavy. sort of like a life once lost's early stuff but sort of less metalcorish and a little more grindy.
about time someone who knows what they are talking about. alot of my friends record and i have been around it forever, was in a band. editing can go a long way so im going to agree with Will. and watch the live videos of these guys and it will show their talent that is so called "fake" .
im sick of stupid people who dont know crap about drums. let me just tell you. from a drummer who records.
ALL BASS DRUMS IN ALL METAL HARDCORE AND MOST MODERN MUSIC IN GENERAL IS TRIGGERED!!!!! THAT MEANS THE SOUND IS REPLACED FROM THE ACTUAL SOUND THE BASS DRUM MAKES!!! THIS IS FOR EDDITING PURPOSES AND YES! MOST OF THE TIME IT IS EDITED PERFECTLY SO IT SOUNDS FAKE!
the only way to know if the drummer is actually good or not is to watch and listen to live videos.
i agree with Thomas. why talk s**t? not gonna get you anywhere but disliked. watch their live videos then tell me the double bass is NOT REAL. check it out then post all your bullshit.
gotta love POSERS who think they are bad a**. HAHAHAHA!
maniac85
i might like them if i could understand the vocals lol. omnomnomnomnom raahhhhh XD
Wow that is some spuradic bass drum...Hard to tell if it's real or not with it being triggered....it can still go both ways, but if he is actually doing that then his feet skills are insane
