A pop/rock group that was formed in the late '90s but was heavily influenced by the rock and soul of the 1970s, the New Radicals are the creation of singer/producer/songwriter Gregg Alexander -- a native of Grosse Point, MI (near Detroit). Growing up in Michigan, Alexander started listening to both rock and R&B extensively as a child and was only 12 when he acquired his first electric guitar. After high school, he traveled around the U.S. and lived in both New York and Los Angeles. It was in L.A. that he formed the New Radicals, which signed with MCA in 1997 and soon got to work on Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too -- a 1970s-minded CD that came out in October 1998. Alexander did all of the producing and arranging and most of the songwriting on the promising album, which was the group's sole release. After scoring the hit "You Get What You Give," he disbanded the New Radicals to focus on production work. ~ Alex Henderson, Rovi
faith hope and charity .. the fountain of life-- You Get What You Give-- ranks right up there too-- the song has always stirred my heart and soul Thanks for letting your voice be heard
They're the best one-hit wonder of the 90's. Their one single CD had 3 truly fantastic songs that still stand out a decade and a half alter. Joni frickin Mitchell called the band the only thing I heard in many years that I thought had greatness in it. And for some reason, they decided to only do this one CD.
One of my most favorite albums since it was first released that I still listen to over and over, and wish they had continued, but glad death wasn't the reason, like INXS. Hope the guy who put together new radicals knows how great his music still is and always will be.
i love "maybe you've been brainwashed too"...def. a 90's classic

Absolutely one of the best albums of the 90s. The transparent blackballing of Gregg Alexander by the industry was a tragedy for the music-loving public.
I too would take this on a desert island. If you like Gregg, he did some lead vocals on a Song Called "A Love Like That" for some soundtrack. I do not remember the name under which it is performed, but it an amazing song. Just the song this already amazing cd was missing. try and find it.
any song that disses satan's whore-Courtney Love is okay with me!!!! That she-devil was the slayer of grunge GOD- Kurt Cobain, she fed his addictions & messed with his head at the end-leaving him just one way out-with a blown off head. If I ever crossed her in a dark alley, she wouldn't look much better than Kurt-after the shotgun! (this is not a threat!)I HATE COURTNEY "LOVE"
