Night Ranger

Featuring ex-Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Brad Gillis and former Montrose keyboardist Alan Fitzgerald, Night Ranger was one of the most popular mainstream hard rock bands of the mid-'80s. The group formed in the early '80s in San Francisco; in addition to Gillis and Fitzgerald, the members included Jack Blades (vocals, bass), Jeff Watson (guitar), and Kelly Keagy (drums). After a few local gigs, promoter Bill Graham managed to get them supporting slots on Judas Priest, Santana, and Doobie Brothers concerts. Night Ranger's first album, Dawn Patrol (1982), reached number 38 on the U.S. charts, yet it was 1983's Midnight Madness that established the band as a commercial force. Featuring the AOR hit "(You Can Still) Rock in America" and the number five single "Sister Christian," the record peaked at number 15 and sold over a million copies. 1985's 7 Wishes was just as successful, reaching number ten on the charts. Night Ranger's audience began to diminish after 1987's Big Life. Fitzgerald left the following year and the band released their last album, Man in Motion, which failed to go gold or spawn any Top 40 singles. Night Ranger broke up the next year. Jack Blades joined the supergroup Damn Yankees, which also featured Ted Nugent and Tommy Shaw. A reunited Night Ranger returned in 1998 with Seven. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, Rovi

Terrible band.
Don't read this because it actually works. You will be kissed on the nearest possible Friday by the love of you life. Tomorrow will be the best day of your life. However if you don't post this you will die in 2 days. Now you've started reading so don't stop. This is so scary put this on at least 5 songs in 143 minutes. When done press f6 and your lover's name will come on the screen in big letters. This is so scary because it actually works!
follow me if you like this band
night ranger is awsome
Just don't tell...
Actually they did do an album titles "seven" I have it.

The band biography has a few holes, Mr. Erlewine, Rovi. Night Ranger reunited with 1997's Neverland. They never made an album titled Seven. In 1995 the two members of Night Ranger that remained together were Kelly Keagy and Brad Gillis who joined with Brad Moon (whom I can find no information for) on bass and put out Feeding Off the Mojo which was somewhat of a departure from the classic Night Ranger sound, though the heart was still there. Today Joel Hoekstra joins, on loan from TSO.
Saw them and Damn Yankes at diffrent times..they rocked!
they still need to add both Live in Japan albums, Dawn Patrol and Man In Motion, and start putting all the songs into peoples stations when they are a seed artist..

Hey g_gigglo your comment is like saying why are these 40 something guys playing softball? There never going to make it to the Major League level. g_gigglo, did you ever stop long enough to consider that the band members might just love performing just like the 40 somethings enjoy playing softball? Try the decaf dude!
Never, ever shame yourself by being so critical of a bands ability to fade-away. They should keep writing timeless music and lyrics, howev e r , t h e shallowness of todays music, their music/songs probably just woudnt fit in to the cell-phone zombys' out there who listen to crap music with no ability to tell a story,ie:the pictures of a song in ones' mind do not exist in the modern era.
@gigglo- at this point they don't care about the comeback, they're doing it for the love of their music, and to sing for their fans from the past and for the present. And they get to make a buck while doing it.
LOL at seeing them for free. I never understood why these groups simply don't call it quits. Instead they run around the carnival scene playing crappy local shows.

Trust me, you aren' gonna make a comeback.
Can't wait to see them this weekend for free! www.festival a l o n g t h e t r a i l s . c o m . Yes you can still rock in america- 80's style!

Great band! Great song-writing !
Christian Cullen Is Night Rangers present Keyboard player. He doesn't ever get any props, so I'm giving them now. He gives the band new energy. Cullen is a Rock Star as well!!
@delivery.pc m a c - here's an idea, buy the album instead of pirating it.
Somewhere in California is the first Night Ranger Album since Man in Motion that I actually couldn't wait to buy!!! This is Night Ranger; energy, musicianship , harmony and hooks!!! Brad, thank you for bringing back the guitar solos! This is not to say that Hole in the Sun was a bad album but it was not classic Night Ranger. Cant stop playing these songs!!! Look for you on tour some where. Why Radio is not picking this up and running with it is beyond me...I guess I am stuck in the 80's....
night ranger a great group i have all there albums except 1 that album i am trying to remember it was the only album without jack blades they have 2 new great albums out half way to the sun and southern california great music still lives on in the band we just need to shoot the corporate radio world trying to tell us what we want instead of listening to us we will tell them what we want to hear!!!!!!!! ! !

Love Night Ranger. Easily one of the most underrated bands from the 80's...and explain why there are no NR tabs??
fantastic guitar players and great pop songwriting. Great band.
I just saw them about a month ago in Pittsburgh and they still rocked out just as well as they did when I saw them in 1984. This is a real guitar-orien t e d rock band...the likes of which are hard to find anymore. Keep rocking Night Ranger!
dankruer
Brad Gillis toured with Ozzy/cut an album of all Black Sabbath tunes in the early 80's. He did a fantastic job on those songs - the man can play the axe. I liked Gillis' version of Faries Wear Boots better than Tony Iommi's. How bout dat?
joshuanorton u s a f
Just saw them this weekend at Thunder Mountain Rockfest in ND. They definately put on the best show out of all the bands, by far. They are still rocking hard!!!
Just saw them last week in WI, after all these years still put on awsome show. Played for over 1 1/2 hrs. Even played some Damn Yankee's tunes.
