Particle

Not your typical jam band (they have just as many disco and electronica influences as anything else), Particle started in 2000 in Los Angeles with keyboardist Steve Molitz, drummer Darren Pujalet, bassist Eric Gould, and guitarist Dave Simmons. Tragically, Simmons died just two months after the band started, but Particle found his replacement in Charlie Hitchcock. Gaining fans from the pure energy of their live show, Particle released their debut album, Launchpad, in 2004. The next year Hitchcock left the band, and Scott Metzger and Ben Combe took his place on guitar, also bringing in vocals -- a new addition for the group. Particle celebrated their first-ever performance with the new lineup by recording it and releasing its highlights (along with pieces from another show) as Transformations Live for the People in 2006. ~ Marisa Brown, Rovi

Why aren't these really really famous!!???
Steve has always been dope on that synth
These guys are awesome this is my fav song of theirs
First saw these guys back in late 2003 after hearing a couple live tracks from a buddy. They played the Social in Orlando, and returned again the next year, and these shows were 2 of the best I've ever been to for any band. Have seen them several times since with their new guitarist(s) and they still rage everytime!

If you missed them playing with Mickey Hart from the Dead. It was quite an amazing show. There was a small tour. They called the band Hydra. Live shows can be found out there. They did direct to disk and sold them after the shows.

I agree with Blairbohr, where's some of the old stuff... this band is loaded with great tunes and sounds... And if you think the studio stuff is good, don't pass the opportunity to see them live... They really know how to jam!
Is launchpad really all that is on here, started them as a station and really would like 2 see more on here!!! Design knows what I'm sayin, Some old stuff!!!!
Really like this band.
Dropped in on a friend in Reno one afternoon. He asked if I'd like to join him and his wife at Squaw Valley to hear a band named "Particle". I was a bit hesitant, but agreed. Nearly made one of the bigger mistakes in my life. What a GREAT show! I've been hooked ever since!
smoothe
Love the driving motion
Wow. I completely agree with jmtomber.

The Trinumeral show was fun but I was let down by the lack of Hitchcock. The play between his guitar and the keys was a lot of fun. I never got to see them with Charlie either. Bummer.

nice!
"feels good on my brain" music

Awesome Band!!!
jmtomber
But without Hitchcock its just all keys. No driving guitar. =(

Although the Trinumeral show was good, I wish I had gotten to see them live with Charlie.
Would like to see more music added other than just Launchpad.
