@cgsreport and to counter your actually reqiuem for a tower was a slightly changed version of requiem for a dream because tower is based off of the LOTR trilogy, if not music for the movies.
cgsreport
@willowtree_777 actually the main song used in requiem for a dream is requiem for a tower by escala.
willowtree_777
amazing how musicians just love to sample requiem for a dream :)
@destroyer Both this track and Escala's use the melody from Lux Aeterna from the Requiem From A Dream OST, by Clint Mansell. Both people simply asked Clint to use the melody.
Requiem For A Tower by Escala has been one of my favorite songs for a while, and I'm very curious how these 2 British bands ended up with exactly the same melody, instruments, arrangement, and very close tempo with no copyright issues at all (that I know of) Could someone explain this to me?

The reason this song plays over and over and over is because there are so many remixes, its playing each of those. it has no idea that this particular violin riff is in each one and becomes repetitive. i guess in pandora's defense it knows you like it, and accurately tracks down every goddamn remix of it lol. i have the same issue on a few of my stations with this song
Man, does Pandora ever have a hard-on for this song. I've heard about 60 different versions of it in the past week or so. But can I get any decent klezmer music? Nooooo-o-o-o-o.

Shouldn't be titled Zoo York, more like a remake of Clint's better version.
This is a great song, and I looove requiem for a dream...but why does the artist need to re-title the obvious remix? It'd be nice if I knew what I was getting into while listening to this song.
i saw inception last night. i don't remember hearing it. speaking of which, i wish hanz zimmer would add more variety to his latest works. the dark knight and inception scores weren't as interesting as his older stuff. come on hanz, you can do better, bud. :/
The strength of a mixer, in my mind at least, is how much is left when you take out one component. Remove Clint Mansell's "Lux Aeterna" and how much 'cool' is still left in this remix? This is the kind of thing that copyright lawsuits are made of.
Requiem for a Dream has been done TO DEATH. I'm so sick of hearing two dozen "different" tracks on four different albums even by different artists that all sound exactly the same. Apparently one of those albums is nothing but Requiem remixed over and over and over again. ARRRGGH! Who thought that was a good idea?
Brown Gumby says: The noise/lyrics in the background is of urdu language... "Farishton ko nahi milta, yeh woh jazba hai insani, naseeba sath de jiska wohi dete hai qurbani". !
I believe the language is hindi, not urdu.
More accurately translated: Angels do not get this, this passion/feeling is for humans. Those who are aided by Fate are the only ones to make sacrafices

It took me a while to figure out where I'd heard this before...
The noise/lyrics in the background is of urdu language... "Farishton ko nahi milta, yeh woh jazba hai insani, naseeba sath de jiska wohi dete hai qurbani". I could be totally wrong but I think when loosely translated, it is something like ...only those who are willing to sacrifice themselves for others are true friends !?!?!
This song reminds me of a dramatic evening in the city, cabs flirting with your bumper as you drive while staring into the rear view mirror, lookingfor the unmarked 5.0 Not blinking but ratherjustfrantically tryingto find meaning to the mission of no accomplishment.Takingcandyfrom a diabeticonlytotease children with it while reuniting with a lostfamily member in the midst of a rainstorm ensued by the bag of white powderleftontheterraceofthebuilding your mind jumped off of. Its all underground.

So I'm sitting at work actually being productive and listening to a little Pandora when I suddenly stop everything and I don't know why. Chills run down my spine, something seems familiar and it's something eerie. Is that requiem? I curl into a ball of depression and begin crying uncontrollably as my boss walks in. I'm going home to get away from the laughter.
I could not agree with all of you more. Nothing more than requium! But it gives you that eeiry feeling all over again.

I love this remix! I am a nightclub DJ and I frequently spin the "chill room" and this track is a great way to close out the night. If you are looking for a great listening experience then definitely follow the other poster's advice - the original score from Requiem is better. If you are looking for new material, however, this song is it!

If you're checking out a requiem for a dream remix, make it the one that was made for The Two Towers trailer. That one is just incredible!

I do like both, although I like Oakenfold's version a bit more.
