Very good mix. Yep. Bookmarked!

Paul Oakenfold lays the right beats and even in some cases corrects a lot of the incredibly famous artist that he works with music. I'm not joking, a lot if not most of the extraordinar y dance and pop tracks of the 2000's were revitalized by this bloke. Give him a chance and he will take you on a journey of (how the song should sound) melodies that are rich in beats you've never heard before.

Oh dang. Oakenfold gettin it. This song is always epic. Nice mix.

Well done inspired in D minor between classical and electronic enjoy.

I'm constantly amazed at how many arrangements / v a r i a t i o n s there are to this piece. Not complaining, because I like it, but I just find it fascinating.

really good

I'm getting really tired of the variations of this tune.

I like the sample taken from Requiem for a Dream-matche s well with the middle eastern vocals

Yummy Candy for the Brain..! ;)

Ever since I saw Requiem for a Dream, it refuses to let me escape its grasp on Pandora.

I really love the song starting at about 3:10. The synths are so damn cool...
Report as inappropriate
Yea his use of these different samples makes for a distinct sound. Lux A is an interesting choice.
Report as inappropriate
Such a weird mix... Vocals don't match.

Amazing vocals of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

A remix of Lux Aeterna I actually like!

Alright, I'll give it the up, but only for that Lux Aeterna sample. (That's the actual title of the Requiem for a Dream song.)

@cgsreport and to counter your actually reqiuem for a tower was a slightly changed version of requiem for a dream because tower is based off of the LOTR trilogy, if not music for the movies.
Report as inappropriate
cgsreport
@willowtree_ 7 7 7 actually the main song used in requiem for a dream is requiem for a tower by escala.

willowtree_7 7 7
amazing how musicians just love to sample requiem for a dream :)

@destroyer
Both this track and Escala's use the melody from Lux Aeterna from the Requiem From A Dream OST, by Clint Mansell. Both people simply asked Clint to use the melody.

@ Steve - Welcome to the world of electronica.

Requiem For A Tower by Escala has been one of my favorite songs for a while, and I'm very curious how these 2 British bands ended up with exactly the same melody, instruments, arrangement, and very close tempo with no copyright issues at all (that I know of) Could someone explain this to me?

The reason this song plays over and over and over is because there are so many remixes, its playing each of those. it has no idea that this particular violin riff is in each one and becomes repetitive. i guess in pandora's defense it knows you like it, and accurately tracks down every goddamn remix of it lol. i have the same issue on a few of my stations with this song
Report as inappropriate
Man, does Pandora ever have a hard-on for this song. I've heard about 60 different versions of it in the past week or so. But can I get any decent klezmer music? Nooooo-o-o-o - o .

tstudent06
Shouldn't be titled Zoo York, more like a remake of Clint's better version.
Report as inappropriate
This is a great song, and I looove requiem for a dream...but why does the artist need to re-title the obvious remix? It'd be nice if I knew what I was getting into while listening to this song.

i saw inception last night. i don't remember hearing it. speaking of which, i wish hanz zimmer would add more variety to his latest works. the dark knight and inception scores weren't as interesting as his older stuff. come on hanz, you can do better, bud. :/

Is this one of the soundtract of "inception"?

The strength of a mixer, in my mind at least, is how much is left when you take out one component. Remove Clint Mansell's "Lux Aeterna" and how much 'cool' is still left in this remix? This is the kind of thing that copyright lawsuits are made of.

The main man in excellence, take me there.
Report as inappropriate
This is pretty cool, for a remix or requiem for a dream.

Requiem for a Dream has been done TO DEATH. I'm so sick of hearing two dozen "different" tracks on four different albums even by different artists that all sound exactly the same. Apparently one of those albums is nothing but Requiem remixed over and over and over again. ARRRGGH! Who thought that was a good idea?
Report as inappropriate
Speaking of remixes, does any one recognize this version of requiem for a dream(have been trying to find it for ages):

Requiem for a dream is really over used.... the remix is great but i wish it was more original.

memy1974
the vocals are from an old hindi movie song (Indian movie).

Brilliant remix. Who is doing the vocals?

Can't go wrong with this. :)

I personally think this is better than the original. :P

Clint Mansell's version for Requiem for a Dream is certainly more erie and authentic, but this song is crazy fun with the amped-up energy and vibe.

hell yeah. nice mix of "requiem."

Brown Gumby says:
The noise/lyrics in the background is of urdu language... "Farishton ko nahi milta, yeh woh jazba hai insani, naseeba sath de jiska wohi dete hai qurbani". !

I believe the language is hindi, not urdu.

More accurately translated: Angels do not get this, this passion/feel i n g is for humans. Those who are aided by Fate are the only ones to make sacrafices

It took me a while to figure out where I'd heard this before...

Virtually identical to Clint Mansell's track "Summer Overture" on Requiem for a Dream (2000 Nonesuch)

I do like both, although I like Oakenfold's version a bit more.

This is my fav movie! I love eveytime this comes on to the play list!

The noise/lyrics in the background is of urdu language... "Farishton ko nahi milta, yeh woh jazba hai insani, naseeba sath de jiska wohi dete hai qurbani". I could be totally wrong but I think when loosely translated, it is something like ...only those who are willing to sacrifice themselves for others are true friends !?!?!

requiem is the sexiest soundtrack EVER... love the melody from that movie and ALL songs that were spawned from its greatness.
Report as inappropriate
I love the violin parts in this mix.
