Right now I have seven core stations which are under constant refinement. Soon I will have to add more stations. For instance, right now I'm listening to my station called The Boarder, and I'm hearing certain songs and wondering if they really belong in The Boarder. Perhaps they would be more appropriate in The Honky-Tonk (which I have not created yet).
I mean when does The Border joint end and The Honky-Tonk begin? Obviously there are many songs that would be comfortable in both places. It is a process of constant refinement as I ask myself, "what exactly does a boarder joint sound like?" What does a good roadhouse sound like? What does it sound like when you go for a drive and the dj on the radio seems to have a magical ability of playing exactly what you like? Song after song they play is a home run.
Sounds like I need to take a road trip down to Texas and find some roadhouses, honky-tonks and boarder joints to do some research.
