MAJOR UPDATE:
To all 1 of my listeners - The Split Personality Disorder that my first station, Pestilence, has exhibited since its inception, oscillating between blistering black metal and weird, ambient soundscapes, has been surgically corrected. Some may lament this transformation, as it inhibits the character of the station drastically, but let it be some consolation that the newest station, Scorched Earth, is the new home for those ambient tracks, and has so far performed admirably. That is all. (9-11-2008)
When you venture off into the dark on your own, you will hear the alien in common noises, see the uncanny in the unassuming. Some music is communal, familiar refrains you can sing in a car with whoever is in your passenger seat. The rest is your own. Memorable, rather than catchy. Engaging, rather than entertaining. I went the route of Norwegian black metal, but the genre isn't what matters.
