I've found most people's cherished music was discovered between the ages of 12 and 17. For me, this means everything I listen to inevitably sounds like New Order or Fugazi. Some simple rules: Any song used in a Wes Anderson movie immediately sounds better. Bourbon is good. Johnny Marr, Dwight Yoakam, John Bonham, Billy Duffy, Peter Hook and Kim Deal would make a hell of a band. Music is never as good as it used to be. If you can prop up Shane MacGowan for two hours, you'll get an amazing show from the Pogues.
