I am an assyriologist/classicist who is a professional educator who beginning in the fall 2007 semester will mark my 32nd year as a college/university educator. In junior high school I became a fan of jazz. In high school I was introduced to orchestral music. I built a massive collection of LP recordings from the beginning of bebop through the advent of cross over in addition to select r&b artists. Katrina destroyed several hundred discs, ending my chances to play what I want and like when I wish to.
